Game Freezes on launch - Nothing works fixes issue

Anyone else having this issue? I have over 300 hours on the game since fresh start, no issues ever. Stopped playing last night about 12 hours ago. and tried to login this morning / afternoon and the game just freezes on the NW logo screen. Things i have tried

  1. Re-install New World
  2. Re-install gfx drivers (Fresh install)
  3. Deleted the appdata files as mentioned in previous posts.
  4. Verified Game Files on Steam

Nothing works. I have had no other changes to my system, no system updates no windows updates etc.

PC Specs: i9 9900k, 2080ti, 16gb ram etc. No issues for hardware.

Any further ideas?

Hi @stevelol

Welcome to the New World forum, I hope you’re having a great time in the game.

I’m sorry to hear your game just freeze on the logo screen with no option to play.

After the troubleshooting you had try please follow this steps after checked for updates on your Windows system:

  • Flush Steam cache: Windows key + “r” key > type “steam://flushconfig/” and click ok > Steam will be close and will request to sign in again. (refresh steam)
  • Compatibility (run as admin): Steam library > right click on the game > Manage + Local files > right click on .exe file and click properties > Compatibility tab > check box on the “Run this program as administrator”

Hope this have been of any help, please let me know how it goes after this process.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. Wish you the best and a nice week. :octopus:

@stevelol , Thanks for let me know.

I have check for more option and have found 2 more troubleshooting to try.

This steps have help other players with a pretty similar issue, I highly suggest you to check the post for any extra info that I may have skip, here.

So, first verify the AGS Files that are linked within New World (it’s not the Steam verification):

  1. Windows + R type in %APPDATA%
  2. Go to Local and Roaming (Both files will include an AGS file) and open them.
  3. Rename the AGS sub-folder ‘‘New World’’ to something different like ‘’_New World"
  4. This will refresh the cache files within New World and remove the error launching the game.
  5. Re-launch New World.

The other troubleshooting is to check if the Internet Protocol Version 6 (tcp/ipv6) is Off :

  1. Open Windows settings.
  2. Go to your Network&Internet section.
  3. Click Change Adapter Settings.
  4. Right-click your connection (It can be either LAN or WIFI adapter) and go to Properties.
  5. Scroll down in the menu until you found the option Internet Protocol Version 6 (tcp/ipv6)
  6. Uncheck the box next to it and restart your computer.
  7. Re-launch New World.

I highly recommend you to re-start you PC after these steps and then try to launch the game.

I will be waiting for your update.
