Game Freezing on Startup

CPU - i7-11800H
RAM - 16GB
Graphics Card - Nvidia GeoForce RTX 3060

All Windows updates are up todate as is my Graphics card.

Hello,
It is currently taking me multiple attempts to start the game, most time it freezes at the initial start screen, (after the New World Logo and spinny circle).

Some times it freezes before I hit the continue button, some times it freezes after hitting the blurb on the server merging and sometimes it freezes after character selection. Once in the game there is a around about a 40% chance it will freeze 2-3 seconds after I start.

If I can get through those hoops I can play without any problems.

I have played with my Graphics settings however it has not resolved it.

Can someone please tell me what other settings to try - thank you.

In this case, could you please try the following:

Run a Steam Integrity Check (Steam Support :: Verify Integrity of Game Files) for New World.

if this does not resolve the problem, please check on this:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

I tried both steps, both came back with a clean bill of heath, started the game and actually got to the point of playing it… for 45 seconds before it froze.

In this case, please perform these steps:

1. Reboot System.
2. Uninstall and Reinstall New World.
3. Reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat .

Thank you, I have done that, but I am going to ask why, as once my game is working its just working.

Can you also please tell me why I needed the easy anti cheat ?

Seems now that now I have put on the spyware and checked the game files I am now being ignored by the admin, is there anyone else who could please help ?

Don’t know if this works for you, but maybe you wanna try:

Try to delete these folders:

C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\AGS
C:\Users\AppData\Local\AGS

But be careful: if you delete the folders, all self-made settings will be deleted and replaced by the default settings.

No guarantee but maybe it helps.

Try renaming the new world folder to fresh the apps locale cache if that doesn’t work.

I’m having these exact issues. Have tried deleting the AGS folders. Done the reboot, reinstall and verify files. Sometimes I can get in the game and run a bit, others I get just past the splash screen.

I have updated video drivers and even set them to the most basic settings.

i am also having this issue have been since dec 22 is there any hope or news off a fix there seem to be more and more on the forums complaining off the same issues

I have the system back to stable - this is how I did it.

I turned graphics quality to low, and turned every other graphics option off, since then I have had no problems with the game freezing.

I am now experimenting with the options to see which ones looks to be causing the problem.

@Cappzz You as a Amazon person should feel ashamed of giving me advice that any google search would give me, telling me to put on software that has no bearing on the problem, then dropping me once you cannot answer. Congratulations, you have just overtaken Blizzard as my worse game supporter.

Set up the system to use the Graphics card (I had took it off under the Nivida Settings) and I still have not seen any freezing.
