Game freezing while fishing

  1. 09/29/2021 - evening / night CST. Game freezes after leveling up fishing (happened every time I leveled up fishing across several levels). After waiting for a while, it unfreezes and I was able to resume fishing. Later in the night, it froze when I leveled and then the entire game just crashed to desktop with no visible errors. Here is the crash info from the Windows event log:

  1. 09/30/2021 - Approx 5:14pm CST. Game froze as soon as I pressed to hook a fish. Am able to spin the camera around and zoom in and out - all other functions do nothing. Waited a while and it never un-froze. Had to crash the process and re-launch. Annnnnnnnnnd back in the queue.

same shit happened to me 12 hours ago. my character is stuck after teleport. everyone around me is froze and they can’t see me.

Memory Issue (High chance Memory Leak) Check this man my game is also started stutter after levelling fishing.

Same issue just happened to me, Game crashed and now im back in 1500 Queue…

It got worse and worse as a level up fishing. It also made lag spikes similar to a memory leak issue.

Same here. Each time when I level up fishing, it freezes. After each consecutive freeze, it gets worse (Even funnier when it’s around monsters). Ended up crashing, was also using all my RAM. Now have to do the huge queue as well.

Thanks a lot for the reports. Im sorry for any issues you got. We are aware for some issues after server reboot or maintenance. Please check the server status at Server Status | New World. If for any chance you have issues, please. Steam Support :: Verify Integrity of Game Files in order to Verify Integrity of Game Files. Then wait for 15 minutes and try to go back to the game.

happens after several fishing level up. Completely froze at 121 lvl, thanks god queue is not BIG issue at night

The freezes seem to become longer each time you level up in a single game session, until the freeze becomes so long it causes the game to crash.

Noticed the same issue, been spending most of the day fishing and every time I gain a level it freezes and seemed to get a bit longer. Just had the game crash entirely as a result earlier. It also seemed to be effecting other trade skills but to a much lesser extent, I’d freeze for a few seconds at a crafting station.

I don’t know if it had been fixed in the past but just happened to me today, started with light freeze and few levels later crashed the game.
So bumping post again :slight_smile:

Had this going on yesterday while I fished, since all trading posts are shut down. Seriously. Can’t believe this is broken too.

appreciated but the bug has been reported in some form well over 30 days by various people including myself…

i quit your game because of this bug…

you need to fix it it has existed too long.

i did have multiple corruption problems potentially relating to the fishing freezes … which is why i picked not to risk playing until it is fixed…

i even installed on a different hard drive and the problem re presented itself.

i was thinking about it and there was a abnormal ram usage spike relating to the bug which happened to me , my ram shot from 6gb in use to over 12gb… i was wondering if it could be possible that the bug is related to certain types of ram… clocked at certain speeds

which is why it doesnt effect everyone.

i do not have any other ram to test this theory out on … so that is out of my hands

my clock speed however is 2133 MHz.

Decided to do some of the fishing quests… this is still a issue. It started with some small freezes - by time i got to brightwood quest , it hard crashed.

Files all validated.
Windows driver up to date.
Video driver up to date.

17 7700k
RTX 2070 Super
32 GB Ram
980 pro SSD (plenty of room)

Same issue while fishing and leveling the fishing skill line. Checked task manager and the game is also using all available free memory, which to me suggests to a memory leak that has been reported about a month ago, but that topic has been closed 4 days ago.
