Game is literally BROKEN and it makes it get UNFUN really fast

I waited to make this review/feedback because I saw this things right when i reached 60. But as a guy that played 18H per day, I reached 60 in 6 days so I decided to wait for a time where most players are already 60 and not only me and some other tryhards.

The amount of broken things about this game are way too many, I can’t even remember all of them, but I will put the most important ones, the ones that make the game unfun after doing all the game content (which is not that much)

  1. PVP combat has a really low skill cealing and a really bad balance

Ranged combat and some classes can show some skill to use, and most of them are really fun in comparison to melee classes. The problem is that they are swallowed by the meta. My server is a tryhard server, so most people use the meta right away. If you use light armor, you are trolling, I don’t know who balanced the armors but if he played more than one game in his life he should be checked for alzheimer. Light armor has 4X less defense than Heavy, and the only downside is NOT having 20% dmg increase, yeah, you can kite better, but you can’t kite in 50v50 which seems where balance in this game is directed (and fails hard to do so)

I won’t even talk about the musket and how useless it is for a high elo Valorant/CSGO player like me, if the high skilled 0.1% FPS players are using GA/Hammer or GA/Hatchet it speaks for itself.
Bow is good, but gets overshadowed by Fire/Ice. You can use Ice cds and then Fire cds, but if you are playing Bow you can only use its cds, because the other Dex weapon is the water gun.

Who designed Greataxe skills and traits? It has gap-closer, lifesteal, empowered, one of the best cc in the game, 15% movespeed perma, best or close best dps. It has the highest damage skill of the game too thank god its useless in pvp unless you are fighting versus a 7yr.

The wars in my server are 25GA/H 5S/H 10 Healers and 10 Mages (Sometimes the mages ALSO use the greataxe with a gem and ice, godsake) and everyone with heavy armor.

And the worst thing of being forced to use Greataxe in this game is that this game is boring for melee, with the removal of stagger and not even adding flinch its a literal clickspam, almost all the must dodge abilities are way too easy to dodge even if you have a 260ms reaction time and you are talking to your grandma while you play.

Fixes? Nerf greataxe to the ground, add at least flinch in melee, buff musket so that at least a high skilled player can make use of it, add the working holy grail of armor in rpg games (Heavy bad vs mages, light bad vs fighters, medium balanced but worse than their specialized counterparts)

  1. Bugs that affect lvl 60 players are way too much and gamebreaking

The bug that makes you invulnerable with the ice gauntlet literally broke every fight that happens in my server, now even a damn musket guy uses ice. Its stupid

Reekwater spawns are broken in many places, I wanted to do the quest solo and then I got mauled by 19 ghosts spawning in the same place or a boss spawning 3 times in the same spot.

Lvl 65 corruptions can’t be closed because of a bug

Outpost rush bugged and disabled.

  1. Economy will only work for consumables

All the items are permanent unless you break them, that makes every item useless when most people have them. Unless you are the first one selling something, you will sell it for 0.01, because no one else will need it. Every good economy in a game has assets that could cease to exist, you should take some tips from EVE Online in that regard, or Albion.

  1. Incentives for PVP, a content that is created by players on its own and therefore the only content that doesn’t get repetitive

I really don’t get how in this game every problem gets extremist with it’s fix. With stagger instead of adding flinch you eliminated it and shifted the combat 180. With PVP zones you went from everything being PVP to not even one zone being PVP.

There should be a PVP zone with the best resources, a really big zone with a lot of cover so that you can’t see someone at 4km. PVP events in central parts of the map would be pretty good too.

PVP shouldn’t be just for the sake of PVP, it has to have a reason for it, this is a MMO, not a Valorant game, if I want PVP just for the sake of it i would go for a match in League of Legends, a game designed for that. In MMO’s you have the power to be fun in other ways, you “change” things in the world or “earn” things that you wouldn’t if you havent engaged in PVP, making it rewarding and fullfilling.

  1. Alliances (party of parties), RAIDS, better dungeons bosses mechanics, and higher difficulty dungeons

Alliances are a must, most of the PVP content in the game is done in parties of more than 5 and there is literally no UI and nothing to actually make a organized party of more than 5 persons.
In dungeons FFXIV put a higher regard for me, there are bosses there that have more mechanics that all the mechanics in all NW dungeon bosses combined. NW need to step up a lot to get in their level.

A expedition of 15 or more people is needed, its like a known mechanic in MMO’s since like 15 years ago.

Ice gauntlets needs a serious nerf. It’s a must have to be competitive where the other weapons clearly put you at a disadvantage for both PvE and PvP.
Nerf ice gauntlet or buf the rest of the weapons in utility.

This is complete nonsense. Level up your crafting, get some gear with good perks and you’ll sell it faster then you can close trading post. Some examples include tools with luck/yield/durability or bags with luck/extrapockets or 600gs weapon/armor. Everything else is worth 0.01 because i can do it myself. End of story.

Build a company, capture a settlement and get rich. That’s incentive enough. UNfortunately it’s a group pvp experience because not everyone should be rich at the same time.

It has great CC but there is a trait in armor that makes you invulnerable to Frozen, a must have trait that most tryhards have, with it it isn’t that OP (because GA is better)

But yeah, a damn heavy armor mage with Ice gauntlet is annoying anyways. (because of how overtunned heavy armor is)

In regards to my economy thing, remember the starmetal tools? They sold for like 2K first, after some days they are sold for less than 300. That will happen to every item in the game that is not a consumable.

About the pvp. That’s not incentive enough, its a literal 30min match every 1 or 2 days. lol

Looting players or killing players that want to opt out from PvP is taken as harrasment. Nobody likes that. If they implement a system around this idea, they will lose players. It’s as simple as that.

In my opinion, the only way to implement incentives fairly would be to create more horizontal progression like obtaining things in PvP that you normaly get in PvE as well.
For example, they could make players drop expedition loot and stuf found in elite landmarks on death. That would be considered fair and won’t sepparate the player base. Of course, there would be a need for an internal cooldown of 30min between drops and a limit of how much drops in 24h, so it doesn’t get exploited

What? Where did i say that people have to be forced to go to these pvp zones?
No one is forced to pvp. And if you don’t want to pvp but you still want to gather resources in the pvp zone you would go with the most evasive build posible, to escape from pvp if there is one.

What’s the concrete difference between stagger and flinch? Is flinch only aesthetical or shorter than stagger?

Stagger gets you stuck in place. Flinch just interrupts your attack, so if your opponent timed his attack better, your attack won’t do damage because he did damage first.

Ok, thanks. That’d be better than now for sure. But for a proper combat, I think stagger should be reintroduced in an optimized way…

Yep, it’s nice to see somebody who actually understand the meta
But you forgot about self heal and duels )

It mostly doesn’t work in MMOs thanks to lag and ping.

Souls-like PvP just can’t happen in an MMO setting. Otherwise we get the threads like “I staggered opponent but I was one staggered. LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE”, where what happened is they got the stagger off first, but thanks to lag, you think you did.

That’s not what a modern MMO maker wants to have to deal with. Beat-em-up grade netcode, over an entire server? Just not going to happen. There is definitely improvements that could be made, but I suspect the decision to design around lag was the main driver.

You actually said " There should be a PVP zone with the best resources, a really big zone with a lot of cover so that you can’t see someone at 4km." . By that statement you imply that. Also there will be ganking and griefing. High level geared characters will camp the resource nodes and grief or gank anyone coming near said resources.

Then maybe play in group or in company, you know in a “mmorpg”… its quite bizarre i know.

I’m always so pissed off by “PVE” people arguing each time they see pvp “NAH ITS GONNA BE GRIEFFING AND GANKING LOL”

For fuck sake are you aware that you are on a multiplayer mmorpg and that you probablly have friends and a company ? If you go gather a node and can’t because there is PVP maybe bringing your company / friends to help you do that and ending up in a big fun fight is maybe a cool and fun feature ?

You know making your “solo experience” more "mulitplayer experience ? its really a weird attitude to expect from someone playing on a massive multiplayer game, i know.

Explain me how you can be grieffed and ganked if you dont play solo in a game where you can escape so easily and you can become invisible when you lie down.

You can be pissed off all you want. Nevertheless my previous statement is true. It has nothing to do with PvP. And certainly no one will bring a guild for a node gathering.

Try to be less sarcastic and insulting. It will help your argument.

If you dont play solo… There are a lot of people in this game that playing solo for various reasons. You are assuming that everyone has a Company (aka Guild).

  • Im assuming everyone has a faction yes.
  • im assuming most of the players will have a company yes.
  • I’m also assuming that a solo player will eventually group or play ith others at some points even if he spent most of his time solo.

So If they dont check one of those 3 box, for me they just chose the wrong game, but if they still like it, fine ! They should just never ask to have a more solo oriented game that’s all.

So you have a problem that you can’t resolve by yourself you dont bring friends or people to resolve it ? and dont play with words, when im saying company im not saying moving 50 people.

it can be 5, 10, or 3 dont play the idiots.
