Game just won't launch

I’ve scoured through the forums, i’ve even tried the “fix” posted by one of the moderators. Going through every step, checking drivers, verifying files, deleting appdata and even reinstalling the game.

I can NOT get past this screen for the life of me.


This has only been a problem THIS week, i’ve been playing just fine and the game has been launching fine since launch. Since last patch in particular the game has been slower and slower starting up until coming to a full stop where it just refuses to start up.

I’ve done all your fixes, i’ve tried every youtube fix. The game won’t launch, computer is NOT the problem. 2080ti 4.6ghz i7 32gb ram

Thank you so much for sharing the troubleshooting you have done so far.

For this issue you can follow this troubleshooting related with the Internet Protocol Version 6 (tcp/ipv6):

  1. Open Windows settings.
  2. Go to your Network&Internet section.
  3. Click Change Adapter Settings.
  4. Right-click your connection (It can be either LAN or WIFI adapter) and go to Properties.
  5. Scroll down in the menu until you found the option Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
  6. Uncheck the box next to it and restart your computer.
  7. Re-launch New World.

If this troubleshooting doesn’t work you can also verify the third party program EasyAntiCheat that is linked within New World:

  1. Open New World in your Steam Library.
  2. Right click on New World’s list title and then Go to Settings < Manage < Browse Local Files.
  3. Open the EasyAntiCheat folder.
  4. Run as administrator EasyAntiCheat_Setup executable file.
  5. Make sure in the drop-down within EasyAntiCheat Service Setup New World is the selected game.
  6. Press Repair Service.
  7. After this process verify Steam Integrity Check files: Steam Support :: Verify Integrity of Game Files .
  8. Re-launch New World.

Fix number 1 :
Did nothing. Nada.

Fix number 2 :
Initial launch made it instantly crash, second launch i’m currently 10 minutes in waiting for the game to boot up.

Also alt f4’ing does close the game but it still runs in task manager and has to be shut down through it as well.

Have the same Problem since the 1.1.1 Patch. I could play yesterday without any Problems. I tried 1 and 2 as well and now i reinstall the game. If this doenst helpt i’ll post/ edit this.

I did solution number 2 and also updated my Nvidia drivers.
Game is working now and my graphic settings were reset.

Worked fine for a couple of days, launched quickly and fast.
Now i’m slowly coming back to a 10-15minute startup.

Most recent patch has made this even worse…Literally can’t launch all day. Please look into this, I cannot keep re-installing just for it to break again in a matter of days.

New patch made the shader cache rebuild or something like that. Everyone is having to wait like 5-10mins (maybe more) on the frozen loading screen for first log in on this new patch.

Try increasing shader cache size in the Nvidia control panel settings

After todays patch i cant launch the game too, im stuck on the same loading screen. I have tried all the “fixes” for it but nothing works.
This is really annoying seeing i looked forward to this patch.

I installed the Studio Driver and the game works now.

Just wait longer. It looks frozen, but its not.

Nothing happend, so i tried what Jarpasaurus posted and installed the Studio driver and now it works :smiley: :stuck_out_tongue:

Just gotta wait for game driver update and hopefully that will work and I’ll switch back but for now I can play! :slight_smile:

Yeah but upwards of 10 minutes with a high-end PC is a tad silly.

I spent 4 and half hours trying out every fix I could possibly find, only for the solution to be installing studio drivers. I’m fuming. Why is that not one of the top automated AGS replies for this situation?
