I have tried a lot so far. Full system restart. Checking GPU drivers / Windows Updates. Verified Steam files multiple times. Complete uninstall / reinstall. Running the game in multiple modes. Tried these suggestions from another thread. All to no avail. Please help
“Alright, thank you so much for the update @mknightsky
Let’s go ahead and try some troubleshooting and see if it helps out
1- Press Windows key + R
2- Type %appdata%
3- Go to AppData > Roaming > AGS > New World
4- Delete the Savedata folder and the user_preload_settings.cfg file.
5- Reboot the PC and you’ll see that the files deleted would be recreated.”
I’m sorry about your issue while launching the game! I see that you have already tried all the basic troubleshooting, so let’s escalate this at once so the dev team can help you ASAP! In order for that, I’ll need you to please attach your DxDiag and Game Logs to a response to this thread so i can escalate accordingly!
Press Windows+R on the keyboard, type %appdata% and press enter.
Open the most recent file from this folder: /AppData/local/AGS/LogBackups.
Paste the contents of the file into your message. Feel free to use a pastebin file for the logs, just paste the file’s link to a response and i’ll be able to check it.
I logged out of the game about 30mins before the downtime this morning. I am now trying to log back in my time (06:00 CST); however, I cannot go beyond the ‘New World’ splash screen after launching the game from Steam. Absolutely nothing has changed over the 3hrs downtime except whatever patch was applied.
I run Windows 10 all up to date - Intel i7 8700k - Asus RTX 2080 Ti on Nvidia 497.09 latest clean install of driver - Samsung m.2 960 Pro 1TB - 32GB DDR4 G.Skill 3200
I have tried verifying steam files, and it has not solved anything. I will attach my DXDIAG and log.
So after uninstalling the game, restarting Windows and then reinstalling, I had the same issue. Knowing that issues like this could be a result of the GPU driver, I did a clean uninstall of my 497.09 Nvidia driver using DDU, then I rolled back and installed 472.12 (the Sept 20 driver that released when New World released).
The game is now launching again. So basically, whatever happened during the last 3hr downtime window, it broke the latest 497.09 Nvidia driver that I was currently running prior to the downtime.
I had a similar issue after the latest patch. Sometimes I would get stuck on the loading screen or my PC would crash. I uninstalled and reinstalled my Nvidia driver and all is working now.

I did this, it DOES work now, but it takes a LOT longer to load. but if ya give it time on splash screen it works.
