Hello, @Welvvs

Hi there we hope you are very well today, could you help me with more details about your PC please, such as

CPU
GPU
RAM
Bandwidth (internet speed)

Just in case these are the minimal requirements

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows® 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-2400 / AMD CPU with 4 physical cores @ 3Ghz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GTX 670 2GB / AMD Radeon™ R9 280 or better
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Disk: 7200 HDD
  • Storage: 50 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: Internet connection required to play, offers in-game purchases

You can Also try to decrease the graphic performance and see if that helps to improve your situation

thanks for let us know your concern.

CPU: ryzen 9 3900x
GPU: GTX 1050
RAM: 32GB 3000Mhz
Bandwidth: 100 mbit/s

Thanks for that information , did you try to decrease the graphic performance just to double check ?

All options are at low

Same issue here, while waiting in queue the GPU is at 100%, this is a major issue because you stress the HW components like you were playing and instead you are actually just sitting there wondering if you’ll ever be left with a PC able to play this game (for real).

CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with Max-Q Design
RAM: 16GB 2400 Mhz
Bandwidth: 900mbit/s

You have to lower your max. FPS to 30 - limitless kills ur GPU. The Loginscreen renders the World all the Time.

ok guys thanks of all that information, let’s me check what else we can try in this case.

Do you have a pc ? Stay in queue and look at resources.

thats what im saying, it should not be rendering during queue the max fps was 60 btw

Yes I do and it is working completely fine on my side

Guys on this page you are going to find some troubleshooting steps that you can try

https://www.amazongames.com/en-us/support/new-world/articles/troubleshooting-frame-rate-and-performance-issues

Here you are some of them:

Ensure your video drivers are up to date

To determine which video card you have:

  1. Press Windows + R, type “dxdiag” into the Run window, and then press Enter.
  2. Click the Display tab and you can see information about your video card under the Device section.

To update your video drivers, go to Nvidia Support.

To update your video drivers, go to AMD Support.

To update your video drivers, go to Intel Support.

Adjust your in-game video settings

  1. From the Home screen, click the cogwheel icon in the top-right corner. If you’ve already loaded into a world, press Esc and then click Settings.
  2. Select the Visuals tab and then change the Video Quality to Low.
  3. If these changes don’t resolve your issue, change the Video Quality back to your preference.

Reset your video driver software to the default settings

Video drivers often come bundled with software that lets you set custom preferences, create graphics profiles, and control other video card settings. Examples of these programs are Catalyst Control Center (AMD) and Nvidia Control Panel. These settings can interfere with in-game video settings, which can cause FPS issues. Resetting your software to the default settings may help alleviate issues.

Nvidia

To reset your driver software to the default settings:

  1. Right-click on your desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Click Manage 3D Settings.
  3. In the upper-right corner, click Restore Defaults.
    check out the last option

Remember that you have to restart your computer at the end.

I hope this helps guys :cowboy_hat_face:

The issue isnt about fps. It is about rendering when there is no need to . There should have been a black screen/looped animation that doesnt use any gpu resources. Send this information to the tech staff please!

It’s very complicated, they can’t do it just like that. Some of these changes are bound to architectural decisions.

So I’ve gone from max to 50-60 % GPU while in the queue but there is a massive caveat.

in Game settings
graphics = low
max FPS = 30 FPS
vysnc off

Nvidia control panel 3d settings
Max FPS = 20 FPS
Vsync On

So now i’m in the queue with 20 FPS an the GPU fluctuating from 50-60%. I’ll see how the game looks when I get in I guess …

the ingame FPS limit setting doesn’t work for the in game menu. I set this to 30 FPS while setting the max frame rate in Nvidia 3D Settings to 60 FPS the game stayed at 60 FPS while in the menu.

I’m probably going to refund this game until they sort this out as i’m running close to 2 hours on steam and I haven’t even got into the game …

I am having the same issues. GPU is maxed out while sitting in the queue. There’s no reason for this.

GPU: AMD 5700 XT
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

Yes, I have fps limit turned on, updated drivers, and tried all the other troubleshooting steps. It is simply a New World loading screen problem. Should not be using full gpu on a still-screen.

your gpu isn’t running above 90% on the queue screen? It shouldnt matter if your in-game settings are low or very high. The queue screen should barely use any gpu since nothing is happening…

1.“it works fine on my end” you’re in customer support, your personal experience shouldnt be used as a objective.
2. The resources the game uses is the same no matter the settings in the game, Limiting fps to 30 lowers the resources to 50%. My GPU is running at the same settings and resources weither it being on my 2080 TI or 1080 TI.
3. In the loginscreen which the game is idle the resources shouldnt even go above 30% for a badly optmised game. It uses max resources as if i were mid combat with 30 players.
4. My drivers are fully up to date. This is the only game this is a problem, now either its badly optmisingation or there is a crypto-mining system added in place(which seems incredibly likely in this case)

Here are also different things i have tried.

  • going from “High” to “low” in video settings have absolutely no impact on my fps or resources.
  • Capping fps to 30, halves the resources. (how???)
  • Minimising the game or tabbing out does not w ork. (Video settings says it should limit the background fps when tabbed out or capped, THIS DOES NOT WORK) instead when minimised it uses even more resources.
  • Booted up a newly generated IOS of windows, the same preformance issues arised.

There is either a crypto mining system added by a rogue dev or someone messed the code up because the performance settings do NOT do it’s purpose. and no game should be running at 90% GPU usage or above 30% CPU usage in the character screen.

Hello, try with windowed mode and the lowest resolution. Works fine on my side. Then, when you entered the game, change it.

Again, as i said in my comment, it does not work.

Same resource usage, if i lower to 700 pixels it runs at 40% cpu and GPU still even tho i limit it.

Also its NOT A FPS ISSUE its a resource issue.

Nice thinking.
But even so, with a 3080 at 23%…
the minimum requirements is a gtx670…

Its very-very bad, they should fix it ASAP!
