Game stuttering - Almost unplayable

Ok, lets say its users PC fault but why that specific time? There was few merges before that “bad” one and I dont remember any threads mentioning this issue before especially with that same describe or even videos showing it. What was done extra while words were connected?
Maybe it was some addition for anti cheat that now it requires to scan your PC more often and longer ect. so ppl with minimal or slightly above PC hardware starts to have problems? Maybe it was something totally different that we dont even know about.

At last we need answers if there was done something extra so we can find out solution for it cuz right now nobody looks to know wtf is going on and most common reply is “ehmm ur pc is garbo
And doesnt matter if me or someone else say that before this game was working fine and everything was updated ect. Also to make this even more weird that day i was playing before server shutdown to farm and buy stuff on market for later to sell them with profit, long hours later finally we could connect again and boom stutters.

Tbh after that whole time with so many issues in general i dont expect it to be fixed anytime soon, hell I think that issue its not even in top 100 things to fix. How many problems we have that are still in game after long months of mentioning it and reporting like for example crafting bug that kicks you out from station when you try to craft smth.

You ever hear of the parable of the straw that broke the camels back?

Who knows. But whatever it was is highlighting the issue in some folks connections.
Did you allow easy anti cheat to go through?

Hey guys, so halloween event is up in SCUM game so I just did update on newworld and also in my graphic card driver, but wow! now it are worst than before, fps goes from 50 to 1 freeze so then works for 5 secs, freeze lol ! amazon i will not buy a RTX graphic card to play your game! anyway alt+F4 and back to SCUM, I play game to chill and not to get stress, go back to the pizza delivery Mr so so developers !

I did. Won’t hurt but game is still stuttering.
Power cable is fine btw

make sure you’re not bottlenecking your cpu and gpu, watch your cpu usage and gpu usage when playing the game. Not sure but when both hit 100% at the same time I think it has something to do with compatibility issues. When I got modern warfare, 2019’s version, I was having cpu usage errors lagging and dsyncing all over the place. Like tracking usage I was getting things like e425242565789+, in the games cpu usage tracker, randomly through-out the match causing those issues. With a GTX 1060/1080 (been a minute cant remember which) 8GB and a amd FX-8350, said to hell with it and upgraded my rig to a ryzen 7 3700x, and later a RTX 3080. But by just adding the Ryzen 7 stoped the issue. Now I have no issues in any of the games I play. Besides the lag on respawn screen in opr after I die which is the game and not my rig. Doesnt happen that often, only when Ive been playing for a long time, like 5-7 matches in and only after midnight. But I have noticed in task manager under newworld there is another proccess called crash update loader or something like that. Ending that task sometimes helps. I dont know if you know but you can use a site called pcpartpicker.com and check compatibility between the two and see if there are any issues. Do the whole system too, just to make sure theres no issues with the rig.

I’m pretty sure I’ve found source of the issue. The freezes seem to be sound/audio related. We just need more people with the problem to do some testing to confirm. If you turn off your sound card/chip the freezes are gone - you can do that in the Device Manager.

Example:

It’ll say something like “Turn off device” in your language of choice. Then you just reboot your PC.

So this “fixes” the freezing issue but you have to play without the sound :P. If you have the freezing issue please try out this temporary fix - if it works for you let us all know. Also check out what’s your sound chip and add that info in your post - it could be an issue with specific audio chip - Realtek ALC 1150 (inb4 - the newest or older drivers don’t help - tried that).

If more people confirm it’s the audio problem then my suggested 1st attempt at dev fix would be to give us an option to preload game sounds - but that’s just my guess.

I had huge lagges in the previous version on my 3090. It has since been fixed with this update.

I did what you said but 10 minutes later it started freezing again.

gpu 3d usage of task manager video card drops to 0 when the game freezes. problem is display driver related

So guys, getting the new Nvidia driver 526.47 Oct 27, 2022 fixed it for me immediately.

I really hope it stays this way after all this time playing a slide show and i really hope it will work for you as well!

Let us know here if it helped ending the misery or post new solutions.

Game is too good to give up!

(Like yusuf10 posted before it seems to be display driver related.)

It did the exact opposite to me. I didnt really have any major problems prior to updating to the most recent driver. Once I did that I would drop like 30-40 frames every 5 to 6 seconds. I had to rollback the driver to the previous version and insta fix.

What is going on with this issue?? :face_with_monocle:

issue for me about freezing, using amd card…(R9 280X),before last update all run smooth…now…randomly freeze…sometimes…at 2 first min’s in game, other at 10-20 min’s…Amd software allert me whith message amd driver time out…Trying many solutions…like reisntall drivers…game…lower refresh screen, nothing,

Have same issue. Any olutions againts these random laggs?

Play on a low pop server if there are any. Until they admit to server population causing all the lag/desync the issue wont be fixed.

Been following this issue since it’s inception, as I’m also plagued by the exact behavior noted in OP’s video. Gonna’ get out ahead of the requests and dump my info here, as well as some observations on the situation.

CPU: i5-6600k @ 4.1 (TurboBoost OFF)
RAM: 16GB DDR4 @ 2133
GPU: EVGA 2080 SUPER
PSU: SeaSonic 750W
SSD: Samsung 980 Pro

Think that’s everything that’s relevant. Onto some random musings.
With HWMonitor on, I’m noticing no irregularities aside from 100% CPU utilization, which strikes me as complicit to the issue being described. I kicked Intel TurboBoost off, running my CPU at max clock all the time in case it was a Cache/Voltage lash issue. (Which has been documented in various ways across numerous games and applications.) Utilizing HWMonitor and CPU Resource Monitor, I killed every non-critical process on my computer and ran around towns for a bit. New World will continue to use 100% of physical cores, which isn’t inherently a bad thing. However, these spikes are taking place at the time “System Interrupts” are taking place; that is, Windows is prioritizing OS services temporarily over the New World process. I am not reaching any phenomenally high temperatures, nor am I utilizing all of my RAM, so this points strongly towards some optimization on how New World interacts across possibly antiquated CPU architecture.

I’d be curious if other users are experiencing the same phenomenon.

I was not having this issue in the past when I played near release, but it’s been a constant since returning a few months ago. To eliminate variables, I’ve done two formats, switched my SSD, DDU and reinstalled graphics drivers, utilized virtually every fix in this thread, just for posterity’s sake. They do not resolve the specific freezing noted by OP.

So…still feezing for a lot players way over 3 months now since summer patch.

Since 2 weeks less freezing but now often followed up by chrash to desktop.

And it is not our Pc’s. It is is on the game side.

The game was running without any freezing at all before summer patch.

Hello?!

(Freezing seems to reduce the less players are on the server)

It has something to do with memory leaks, the longer you’re in-game the worst the stuttering

I have to restart my game every 1-2 hours for somewhat “smooth” (i wish) gameplay

Sunday unplayable…constant freeze + crash every 15 min.

Stop playing.

Thank you !

Greetings Fellow New worlders,

I was having stutters for 2 seconds randomly. And it was specific to new world. Other games were running normally.

Today i changed “cap fps” to “uncapped” from the options in game and i have no problems till then.
You can cap fps via RTSS or Nvidia control panel if desired.

Hope it helps…
