- What is happening?
The game loads immediately into the NEW WORLD splash screen and never progresses past that. No sound is made from the game and I never get to the part where the colored lines spiral across the screen.
I have to task manager end task to get it to stop and then steam still thinks it is running even after end task.
All my other games load fine and I can even load other games while New World is frozen on the splash screen. Discord and all other applications work fine with no issues while this is happening.
I did a verification on files one time and it let me play once yesterday. Trying to load it again today and same thing happens. Verification won’t fix this time so I completely reinstalled. Still doing the same thing after full reinstall. Rebooting the machine doesn’t fix it either.
- Where are you in the process when you run into the trouble? (e.g. When I leave tutorial and enter the world)
The very first splash screen that you see before the colored lines move across the screen.
Additional information:
Upon closer inspection. The task manager shows the game using between 9 and 10% of my CPU and changing regularly. It’s currently using 4800 MB of ram and it is very slowly increasing by 0.3 megs every 10 to 15 seconds or so and while I have been sitting here monitoring this it finally decided to load the game. It took it about 15 minutes to fully load up for some reason.
Closing and reopening goes back to being stuck at the splash screen again.
