Same issue as always except reinstalling that blue bear anti cheat didn’t fix it this time. Reinstalled game, verified files, cleared caches, ran updates, updated drivers, uninstalled blue bear and reinstalled, hard restart. Still just freezes at NW launch screen. Honestly I think I’m done, thanks for the good times (the few and far between)! Also thank you guys for never getting back to me about my transfer token. A+ customer service.
Thank you for contact us in regard the the issue with not loading game. I’m sorry for this situation.
I can read you already tried all possible troubleshoot. I was checking the game under the server provided and its loading properly for me. No issues so far after 1 hour connected.
Back to your case, did you try to troubleshoot your modem?
Unplug the power cable from your router and modem. If your router or modem has a battery, remove it.
Wait for 30 seconds and then plug the power cable back into your modem. If you removed a battery from your modem, put it back now. Wait another 30 seconds for your modem to boot.
Plug the power cable into your router. If you removed a battery from your router, put it back now.
Try opening the necessary ports on your router to allow traffic between your network and our servers. If you don’t know how to forward ports, https://portforward.com/ is a good place to learn. You can also test your luck on Google if you’re feeling lucky.
If opening these ports doesn’t resolve the issue, we recommend checking with your ISP (internet service provider). In some cases, your ISP may be limiting traffic on certain ports, which can impact your ability to play our games.
@bhammer44 try to go into File Explorer and locate the following directories. Keep in mind you may need to turn on the option to see “hidden items” under the view tab in order to view the AppData directory. Rename them both to AGS_TS and then relaunch the game. You’ll also need to setup your game settings again after the file rebuild if this corrects the situation. None of the AGS directories are rebuilt when you uninstall and then reinstall the game.
@prymortal also mentioned that if you are running Windows 11 there will be another directory that you’ll need to rename as well.
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp\AGS
If this works do not delete the directories you renamed to AGS_TS, instead ask @Standor which files the Development needs from those directories to try and understand what is causing this issue as it has been posted on the forums since shortly after launch and there has never been a complete resolution to it.
Also I’ve written a batch file that automatically deletes the local AGS directory every time the game is launched. I believe, and I could be wrong since I don’t have access to the information AGS has, that this is the primary directory that gets randomly corrupted and results in various issues cropping up. Deleting this directory only doesn’t have any affect on your in game settings such as visuals or keybinds.
@echo off
rd c:\users\k_a_s\appdata\local\ags\ /s /q
cd c:\program files (x86)\steam
steam.exe steam://rungameid/1063730
exit
Anyone that opts to use a batch file like this will need to edit the username, here it is “k_a_s” which is mine, as well as the gameid. To locate your gameid go into your Steam library, locate New World and right click on it and select properties. Under updates your App ID will be your gameid used in the batch file.
If Steam isn’t already open the command shell will stay opened after launching the game, all you have to do is close it manually by clicking on the “x”. If Steam is running the exit command will close the shell.
