Describe the issue you are experiencing: I select my character and click play, after a few seconds of loading my ENTIRE pc locks up, any video I’m watching stops playing, any audio stops, my mouse can no longer be controlled, any keyboard input does not work, and then new world crashes. does not happen to my second character (made to test)

(if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: I cannot record a video because as soon as I hit play my entire pc freezes up as I said, which stops any recording software
What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: load game, hit play
My character is standing in monarch bluffs, game also crashes when fast traveling here from anywhere else on the map then proceeds to produce the aforementioned bug.
Hey there BadLuck, sorry to hear about your game crashing. I will get a bug report made up for you though so that the dev team is made aware of this issue. Is this a new problem you’re having or has this happened before?
I managed to play about 35 hours before it started happening, I got crashes fairly often from fast traveling but it wasn’t really an issue to just restart the game. However now it crashes almost every time I fast travel to a settlement, and when I restart the game it’ll freeze my entire pc for about 5-10 minutes then crash. I’ve set all my settings to as low as possible and turned nameplates down to only 2. Turning the nameplates down allowed me to get past the loading screen for about a 1 hour session then I fast traveled to another settlement and the issue is back where I can’t play yet again.
if it matters I have an i7-8700k with an MSI 2060 super gaming x and 16gb of 3200mhz ram so my pc is more than capable of running this game even with high settings, new world is the only one with these issues.
Update: all 12 of my CPUs go to 100% usage and my entire ram fills up before it crashes. I gave it 8gb more of swap space to see and it fills that up too. It should not be taking 24gb of space just to load me into the game and it still not even work
