This is happening to me as well. Stuck on the New World screen prior to actually getting into the game. Though it says it’s running.

Im having the same issue… I verified files through steam and it just sits at the new world screen. I was not running in windows mode.

Happend to me too, got to the character selection screen then the whole thing stopped working.

Same issue. I get the sound of drum beating if I alt-tab, but it’s stuck at the first New World intro loading screen and I have to task manager to end it.
Edit: waiting didn’t fix it. Saw in another thread someone updated drivers, So I updated Nvidia drivers even thought I was only behind one version and it worked!

Having the same issue, game is just not loading although according to task manager it is using CPU and memory resources

I had this problem in a previous patch and then again today. It freezes before showing the Amazon Games page. I just waited 10-15 minutes and it loaded up. It was much quicker the next time I had to load the game.

Same issue… after the first normal start i clicked to continue to the charackter screen and then nw freezed. After that i am stuck in the new world screen and nothing happens. Repaired with steam… booted… fullscreen mode. Nothing.

Okay, just got it to work. I had the overwolf map, and I uninstalled it and game started right up. Got me to at least character select but now I’m having different issues

I will try just waiting, I saw someone else said it took like 8 minutes, so maybe it’s just hanging up on some hardware issue
Edit: What worked for me was updating my nvidia drivers and restarting my pc after!
Confirmed, as soon as i closed overwolf the game launched.

I have the same drum thing when i alt+tab at the infinite new world loading screen. I did everything (verifying, restarting) now i reinstalling. Hope updating gpu driver with the reinstall fix this issue. I will update as i try.

Also…when you click back into Steam… you see the stop button even after it is closed. Task manager doesnt show it active but steam thinks it is.

A buddy of mine had the same problem, it got solved by updating his graphics drivers
Tell him to recall to inn or teleport and tell you if it’s really fixed… Cause i had updated drivers since the start, got black screen, etc, got in game finally, only to get lag detected and Q after i recalled to inn… something is really broken. server caer sidi eu
Same issue being stuck at title screen.
I reinstalled GPU driver and it let me past title screen, but now I have a blank in game screen and says I am not connected. No character selection.
