As it is right now, the gameplay we have available is not rewarding to the average or even above average player.
PvP
- OPR rewards are non-existent. 20+ minutes of gameplay nets you some gold and repair parts.
- Wars are not optimized enough to be fun, most people get stuck in place with perma CC chain and ice gauntlet abilities.
- Open world PvP gear is useless, and after maxing weapon masteries, the faction rewards are not enough compensation.
PvE
- Dungeon Mutators currently scale way too hard based on gear score, which you cannot raise, unless you either gamble with the crafting system or you guessed it, play mutators, which you can only guarantee 3 per week. Getting Gold Ranks with no issues in 1-2 and then having damage knocked down by 60% is not good at all. And this is at 600GS, the average player is nowhere near full BiS 600 gear.
- Dungeon 600 loot, even when legendary is generally useless, with split stats like Strength/Focus and 2 dump perks like Logging luck and durable, items like these are way to RNG to even get excited about.
- Open world loot is the best way to make money and even that is a gamble. Quest rewards are gimped after hitting 60 and experience goes to the void wasted, making that 60 gold reward and a level 60 chest with a green drop worthless.
As it stands, Mutated dungeons scale way too hard, too quickly, making the climb to even get 600+ gear a years long process with them being the ONLY way besides casts to get Umbral shards, if you go by the fact that you can only get 3 orbs per week. And any armor you craft specifically to make Lazarus easier, which to be honest will still be unusable if it isn’t rolled 600, will then be useless for 2 weeks until the cycle comes back to Laz. Meaning you then need to make 2 MORE 600 sets for Gen and Dynasty. Which you won’t have the money for, because nothing else in the game is giving you the materials/funding to roll these items at that level.
I just don’t understand why nothing in this game feels like its rewarding. The game is constantly challenging me to even log in. I can’t even play it for fun sometimes because the PvP aspect is being lessened by constant player loss. The servers will eventually dwindle down to 2-3 hundred lucky/wealthy players all fighting each other until they lose motivation to do even that.
