Gathering rescources in another factions territory should auto flag

So your little zerg train can camp the nodes? LOL, why would they implement something like this. This would a great way to turn a few dead servers into mostly dead servers.

so get your own little zerg train and contest them. voila pvp aka fun.

its called competition

I see the “risk vs reward” argument just keeps on reappearing.
It has been already debunked multiple times even on this forum, but I don’t mind doing it again

In every endeavor, be it game or finance or business the “ability” of participants to do well follows Gaussian distribution (in american language “bell curve”), whereas risk vs reward relationship is generally linear. What that means is that people at the far right of the distribution (simplistically those who are “the best”, although they can end up there due to various factors) get much higher proportion of the reward and very little risk, whereas everyone else essentially absorbs all the risk for diminished returns. “So what? Get gut scrab” - you say. But it is not that simple. The bottom 5% of people exit the endeavor (having been hit with massive risk and very little reward) and the entire curve shifts to the right. This happens again and again, until only few participants are left, after which risk disappears because participants basically start colluding with each other to minimize risk and maximize rewards.
We see it in games in EVE null-sec which for the areas owned by large alliances is safer than high-sec.
We see it in marketplace, where for what used to be high-risk endeavors we now have essentially what amounts to oligopoly (pharma, aerospace, gas turbine engines etc)
We see it in finance where there are 3-4 trendsetters and everyone else just follows them.
(Ofc IRL risk never disappears entirely because there are external pressures on the participants who contain risk factors, but in game, there environment is 100% controlled so “created risk” can be and is removed completely)

TL:DR version: risk vs reward is bull, long term this approach leads to bunch of guilds owning everything and colluding with each other

I didn’t say a thing about forcing PvP on anyone, on any thread. But you seem to be on every thread attacking everything you don’t agree with.

How can you be that fallacious and unaware?

This thread is ‘People should be forced to PvP if they want to take MY resources!’
Ignoring the fact that they’re not anyone’s resources until they’re in a person’s backpack.

So I ask you:

I’m level 60, 600gs and nearly 200 in every crafting and gathering skill with about 500 hours, I’m having fun, lots of it

As I said, if you’re not enjoying your time it’s probably not the game for you

Because who doesn’t love to have a play style forced upon them…

I’m absolutely s*it at PVP, so I choose not to do it…as a result I should cower in my home factions town and never see the rest of the map…

Why is my enjoyment of the game worth a different amount to yours, because I don’t choose to PVP?

Skinning people’s kills; yes. Other MMOs lock kills to whoever killed it, or share loot.

Taking a node while you’re 2 feet away mining another node? No. It’s not yours just because you are there. There’s no ‘calling it’ and literally no other MMO has done this, either. First come, first serve, and that means ‘First one to start mining that exact node’ not the one next to it. Suck it up.

PVP caveman.

To be specific, by PvP we mean, fair fights that are organized, skill based, and opted into by all participants. Not PKing (Player Killing), which is a predatory behavior that relies on exploiting another player’s lack of experience, progress, readiness, or willingness. So for those folks who desire that harsh PVP environment, New World may not be your favorite game, however, we do hope you enjoy the PVP we will offer.

Who is we? You don’t mean anything to anyone, you are hugely unimportant, and not involved in any decision making. Amazon seem to want pve and pvp players.

You are not relevant, and neither is your mysterious “we”

People who don’t want to pvp will just not go

An idea from someone else but buried in a large post was :

If a company declares war on a settlement the 2 companies are autoflagged only to each other as PvP active until the war is resolved.

This made sense to me and even if you into PvE this should make sense in the world we inhabit.

You joined a PvE Company… Then you wont be attacking settlements so you wont be flagged. You joined a company that does PvP as well then thats the Company you are in. Dont like that sort a PvE company.

havent they told ya son, PvP be da talk of de devil, now wash your mouth out with soap and repent.

It’s not ‘your’ game, and it’s not a PvP game.
Sorry, you and your imaginary friends don’t count as multiple people.

no, just no…we already have servers that are completely one color. don’t feel like getting ganked by 50 greens every time i walk out of town and don’t feel like being a goblin again

Moving on. Hopefully, Ashes of Creations will be the PVP MMORPG I’m looking for. New World is fun, I love the gathering, the sounds, and the environment but the PVP content is lackluster with being locked out of wars & no meaningful incentive for open-world wars. Outpost rush is cool but it’s just not enough (especially with the bugs and exploits). And to add extra seasoning on top; the forum is full of people hostile to PVP players.

You say that like there aren’t 10 ‘PvE players are ruining MY GAME’ posts every day.

You don’t see posts demanding PvP players get unflagged do you?
But yet the opposite is true.

I don’t care about PvP so stop demanding I flag so that you can stroke your e-peen And get your rocks off.

The default is PvE… so actually it’s just an MMO with an option for PvP.

No. Just no. Stop trying to force PvP on people.
