Gathering stealing

Yo. I think it is time you figure out a way for people not to be able to grief you while gathering, because your own faction is working against you if it’s about orichalcum veins. These greedy virgins even become salty when you ask them not to do it. (virgin is not an insult)

I don’t care if i’m being attacked while I do my thing, but if they can’t attack me they shouldn’t be able to move me from the node or whatever I’m currently gathering.
It’s a race already, but if I touch it first, I’m should be the one who gets it.

Roll on a low pop really. Or clear mobs, then do mining. Or mining speed stuff.

Don’t think they’ll change griefing.

High risk, high rewards or don’t flag, simple.

Read the whole thing.

I’ve never had this happen.

Two whole five sentence paragraphs is an awful lot of reading, huh???

Dude.
Farming is competition, and a lot more fun when its competitive as a whole, unless u are a mindless farmbot :S risk/reward inc this further.
Some people will do whatever they can to up the yield, and who are you to blame em? Its kinda what farming is about. It’s not really about being nice to your competitor on a given farmspot - unless u value that, over time spend and yield gained. In that case I would have found the “kindness” perk and added that to my tool, instead of yield. Kinda detrimental to what u are doing.
Outsmart your competition (or kill em, if u like to world pvp) instead of whining, maybe? xD

My apologies, I did read but not fully understood. Have to read again, thanks for correcting me.

In fairness, his problem isn’t being fixed either. Psure they said griefing sucks, but they aren’t about to punish it.

Granted if a player followed you day in and day out doing it you could probably file a report about that…

Sure that’s straight up harassment, if u keep doing that for hours/days

  • Unvillingly sharing a farmspot, and not trying to get the maximum outta the time u spend there tho, that’s something else!

Good luck. the toxic subset of PvPers will claim that pushing you off nodes or training NPCs is fair game against unflagged gatherers, since they can’t outright gank you.
They, literally, can’t understand that most people don’t want to compete with them, so they assume anything competitive = good (so long as they are winning).

It’s survival of the fittest, really.
Naturally the not so fit, will claim that its unfair, as the bigger fish is chewing at em, or in other words; winning,. Whereas u are loosing…
Why is it a toxic subset of a pvp’er, to want to maximize your gain for time spend? It’s not fair-play sure, but was farming ever a fair-play activity?
It’s subjective to the core.

It’s more that work surrounding this would require a lot of footage to really verify that it’s taking place. I myself have accidentally bumped people with my fights (of course I’d step well away from resources if I did so), but I’ve never gone out of my way. Nonetheless, under a rule for it, I could be punished quite easily… and I don’t really trust CS to do an honest, clear and good job, so.

AGS’ response instead is to sort of tell you ah well-- it’s bad but there’s no good answer. And there isn’t really, especially not when people suspect their report and ban systems anyway.

The latest I heard of their ban system; December New World Team Update - YouTube
Up to you to decide if you think they just talk shit to talk shit - I know what I believe, hear-say is not always facts. However, listening to someone who is working with the game and has actual knowledge of how stuff’s done (which also seems quite the logical way to go about it; as explained in the vid) seems more trustworthy  I never had love or hate for AGS (maybe cause I’m not from US, dunno xD) But I do beleive they try to do whats rigth, and not whats wrong.

My problem is that there’s no transparency, every-- every– other company whose games I’ve played, at least, will tell you why you’re banned and what led up to it. Otherwise, appeals are basically useless. I also have fair reason to believe they ban retroactively based on that.

I get people want to brand it as hearsay because that’s easy, but the fact of the matter is that they’ve held the ability to disprove this from the beginning and choose, despite all interest, to stick to their guns.

I don’t like it and I ain’t gonna. Til their CS team cleans up their nose and gets transparent, I’ll continue to distrust them, unfortunately.

And u are in every rigth to do so!

With any luck, part of improvements going forward will involve cleaner and clearer interface between players and support!

But on topic one last time: you can’t really report for griefing. It’s bad, but like, there’s so many variables I imagine they’ve just said they won’t be trying to sort it out. I don’t blame them.

Agree!
ye griefing will prolly always exist and not really be a banable offence, and in the case of this topic I would hate for it to be a such. Cause although I’m usually quite nice myself (to ppl without pvp toggled on), as soon as they try to take “my” nodes, ima go for all the nodes I can for the rest of the time I farm something that place, pullin tigers on em and what not! :stuck_out_tongue:
But if I see an uncommon name on a farmroute I won’t rush to their node with stuff to try and get it. Guess that’s the “fair” way it should be, but the more u encounter unfairness in terms of ppl yoinking(or trying to) ya nodes, your mindset changes slightly along the way, to be more of an ass than u use to be! xD
