Gear grind holding us back from fresh start

As a mostly pure pvp player I have logged over 1000+ hours on this game
I’ve gone over previously all the things I think are great

However, for me it is hard to abandon my old character I’ve spent so much time and gold crafting bis or at least close to gear.

To start on a new server just seems redundant except for following the player base

My only suggestion is to me the best pvp was before everyone was 600 when the top gear was the 525 faction gear. Fights felt pretty balanced and it was a very straightforward thing to grind for. Is there any way we could have the factions provide 600 gs pvp gear? I understand the pvp track has gear but that itself it RNG and an unholy grind lol

Would love to see 600 gs pvp gear from the faction vendor that had refreshing/ref evasion - resilient - freedom/aversion/shirking fortification

TLDR - don’t want to grind out pvp gear for 100s of hours asking for 600 gs pvp gear available from faction vendor

Thanks for reading

Nope. Folks were told before Fresh Start that you all wouldn’t get special considerations or extra services. The answer to this is the same as it was and has been on the previous servers. Put in your time and earn the gear. You all knew that was going to be the end-game loop when you started on fresh start.

It’s a minor quality of life improvement for a specific group of players
It will still take all the time of grind faction tiers and tokens
Grinding expertise to 600
Grinding umbral shards
And the weapons won’t be generally bis so that will still have to be grinded

Is it not worth trying to appeal to the player base as a whole? How can I justify giving another 1000+ hours to this game to get likely far less than I currently have

Think about it

Your making the choice to play on fresh start - its a fresh start - that means you do the whole grind again. If you don’t want to do it - keep playing on the legacy server.
This isn’t a QoL improvement it’s an advantage your asking for that players on Legacy servers never had. That grind is the game - it’s the journey. If your going to do that then let’s add PvE Ward gear at GS 600 to the vendors too. Before you know you get a box in a bow at 60 with all your BIS gear in it just for showing up.

And I don’t think that the gear or anything should transfer you are right that would greatly defeat the point but I am saying that there should be a streamline for specific gear sets especially pvp

The best thing would just be to increase the values on gear related to PvE

This fresh start isn’t about “preserving” the original values of the game hence why there currently a PTR and they plan on rolling out patches to “improve” the game forever

So I’m suggesting a quality of life improvement that would appeal to legacy players on fresh start

And it’s not a gimme it’s still a grind just not as long as the original one when we were Priest farming for 6 hours a day just to get a few bumps on random gear

No

Fresh start is fresh start.

Means starting back over completely.

If you don’t want to start over, and redo the grind, then don’t play on fresh start.

What do you not understand here? You would be redoing the grind
There would just be a different reward for a part of the grind

It’s not possible for me to re-do my Inital 600 hour grind of farming named mobs to oblivion to get a gear score bump on a weapon I don’t use

So your argument doesn’t make sense
You can add new rewards to the same grind and they will eventually
I’m just asking for something specifically

Huh?

It’s a major change to what faction vendors sell now and would need to be offered universally, for PvE and PvP, across the whole game and not just on FS servers.

And more to the point, this:

And this:

  • it should be implemented on legacy servers as well

For people who only want to enjoy the pvp aspect of the game there is already a large amount of pVE content that has to be endured just to upgrade expertise and gear to 625

Look I know you all value your time and if you
Don’t you should

This game wasn’t so bad to grind when I was unemployed but now I work full time and have a baby due soon
Not that that should really effect any of the devs decision making processes however

I’m willing to go through the core elements and mechanics of the game again

But I am not willing to grind engineering to 200 and use hundreds of
Thousands of gold to craft 1 good bow
Not to mention the hundreds of thousands it cost to find good gear
On top of that the countless hours to farm useable pieces

Just to play pvp

I’d like to be able to get on and go straight into pvp on a fresh start server with balanced and equalized gear

No advantages just simple gear that caters to pvp

lmao

I like how people focus on the fresh start thing and not on the major issue that pvp’ers just get fkd over unless you already have a thousand hours in the game lol

Swear half of the people here tried for weeks to talk shit about FSS and now are salty it actually brought players in.
Then 5months from now they’ll be “see. FS was a FAIL!!! We told u!!”

God ey xD

Yeah it’s silly
Pvp players will always follow where the players go

Because they need other people to play against :joy:
So in this case it’s the new servers

Oh, I absolutely 100% understand this.

That’s really all I enjoy. That’s why I’m even messing with the fresh start servers. Loving running around questing, and coming across flagged players. I chose the underdog on the server I chose, just to have a higher chance of open world pvp.

Would love to not be forced to spam gen and force myself to do daily chest runs, just to get expertise up to stay competitive.

However, the only way to really gear, via pvp, is OPR and reward track. Track being garbage, the vast majority of the time.

Would be nice to see the faction vender having solid 2 perker 590+ gear. Even just a reward crate, setup like OPR, that you can purchase and open to get a chance for gear.

Crafting should stay the best way to get BIS gear though…

The vast majority of random drops that the RNG generates now caters to PVP. It’s exponentially more difficult today to go out and get usable PVE gear from loot drops than it was before the summer patch that was supposed to improve the loot system. It made it far far far worse for players who don’t care about pvp and it was crap already.

Resilient and Wards need to be exclusive to one another. They should never appear on the same piece of gear.

Resilient needs to be nerfed in the loot table, its far too common compared to the PVE perks.

PVE centric perks need to be removed from all PVP reward sources: opr and war caches as well as pvp reward tracks if they exist there.

The PVP reward track should be buffed to provide the pvp gear your looking for but you should have to grind through the pvp ranks to earn it. Or implement more faction ranks and gate the gear behind the ranks.

Those are good ideas I think what would be best is if you had access to all the gear from the track but had to buy each piece of largely increased azoth salt prices that would be perfect

Because imo the gear off the track is plenty good for what I’m talking about
Not BIS but certainly can compete with bis
