First of all, Im very happy that New World is introducing any form of equalized pvp. I think that’s a step in the right direction but maybe this step is too small? What do you think? Wouldnt it be better to scale up to 625 in opr and arena? Like a Guild Wars 2 for example with their 5vs5 pvp. There, doesn’t matter how many months or years you were away, gear is equalized and everyone have even playfield. Game have also other game mode, World vs World (40vs40vs40) where gear is not equalized so everyone can play what they want.
Here, 625 player will still keep some of his advantage with 3rd perk over less gs player but the game could be much more balanced for new players while world PVP and wars could be unchanged. What do you guys think?
Equalized gear nullifies any sense of progression for PvP players and essentially makes participating in the economic part of the game mostly redundant.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for some basic equalization to allow Fresh Level 60s to be able to compete (atleast to a certain degree) in PvP modes. However I strongly believe that we need to leave enough room for growth after that baseline. In other words, Full equalization is hopefully never going to be a thing in New World.
