Its hilarious people want the “immersion” of spending hours/days gathering materials and then using those materials at multiple crafting stations but the “immersion” of changing clothes is just too much for them.
Gear sets are absolutely needed but the outrage of having to pay for content is mind boggling. Where in life to you ever get more for less?
Correction: it’s not convenience, it’s selling a solution (not a great one either) to a problem they created by making it necessary to have multiple gear sets and thus giving us gear bloat. Less inconvenient does not equal convenient.
More successful competitors have found other ways to implement content specific buffs and add horizontal progression without creating gear bloat.
More successful competitors allow you to swap between different classes and automatically load all your gear, attributes and skills at the click of a button.
If the problem was that you needed 2 or 3 different sets to do all the endgame hard content then that would be true, although it still wouldn’t be adding anything positive, just making up for the bad design choices made.
However that wouldn’t even cover mutations, let alone pvp or life skills.
So no, it’s still just paying to solve a problem they put into the game.
If this were a totally optional way to have sets for dps, tank and healer then sure, that’d be fine. Although they still don’t deal with skill or attribute loadouts so it wouldn’t even be very good for that.
I would like more gear sets personally because I never found the need for so many items enjoyable. I spend a lot of time just trying to organize my inventory and storage because it feels cluttered. I play pvp and mutations in different roles. Having additional slots over 9 would be appreciated because it would be nice to be able to change roles easily and not have to go back and search through storage for items. Is it necessary for gameplay? No. It is quality of life. The game style wants you to have a lot of different sets and juggling gear, for me and many of my friends, is not a fun aspect of the game.
New world should have been released with 10 gear slots and down the line like after so long we should have had at least 25 9 are defo better than 0 but it’s still a joke. Every single thing in new world takes so long and gets released at very poor state. By being the best skill shot mmo out there without tap targeting and the combat it self are keeping it alive. Everything else it’s horrendous and like it’s beta
the initial few dungeons required no swaps. Thhis is a new trend they obviously started for a reason. I am 90% sure the next dungeon will require more than 2 sets, since somehow they have to inconvienience people who refuse to spend the money on it.
