Gear Sets PTR Feedback

I am truly excited for this year and the amazing content coming. I think the Seasonal system will be a great addition to the game and the season pass will be fun. However from everything that has been posted I am really concerned that having only 2 (plus another in the season pass) gear sets is a slap in the face.

New World is built around having different gear for every occasion. Being able to quickly switch between those sets is fun and rewarding. Having to manually scroll through lists and lists of items to put a set together is painful. I have sets for every trades skill in my storage. But I never use them because it takes to long to get them out, change between them all when gathering.

We need 10 Gear Set minimum. Other have argued 20 if you account all trade skills, luck sets, enemy type builds, PvP etc.

Also, please consider simplyfying trade skill sets and combine them all into:

  • Gathering Set
  • Refining Set
  • Crafting Set

I’ve had this idea for a while now:

Replacing trade skill gear with a schematic (5 schematics per skill). You learn these, they’re used and disappear. Then you don’t need to swap anything.

Yes, please report back to the devs that we need at least 10 free sets, anything less does not show good faith. And if they think that 10 sets is too much, let me elaborate.

An average player needs at least 18 gear sets if they are playing the game as designed

  1. Main role (DPS/Healer/Tank) Lost set …(that’s 3 sets)
  2. Main role (DPS/Healer/Tank) Corrupted set …(that’s 3 sets)
  3. Main role (DPS/Healer/Tank) Angry Earth set …(that’s 3 sets)
  4. Main role (DPS/Healer/Tank) Ancient set … (that’s 3 sets)
  5. Main role (DPS/Healer/Tank) Human (new) set… (that’s 3 sets)
  6. Main role (DPS/Healer/Tank) Beast (future) set… (that’s 3 sets)
  7. PvP set (lets just assume only one, which is a bad assumption but lets assume)
  8. Smelting
  9. Woodworking
  10. Stonecutting
  11. Leatherworking
  12. Fishing
  13. Weaving
  14. Harvesting
  15. Mining
  16. Logging
  17. Skinning
  18. Luck
  19. Main crafter set (lets just assume you focus on one craft)

(you can easily see that these are actually ~30 different sets)

So giving us 10 sets is really the bare minimum, and it shows good faith because inevitably we will need to buy more as you can clearly see from the list above. Everyone in the community is saying this. Just read the reddit comments (Link below) also people are making a video about that (link below)

And I also agree with consolidating the trade skill sets into:

  • Gathering Set
  • Refining Set
  • Crafting Set

I think 5 free gear set slots would be good to start out. Without a maximum number that can be bought.
