As the title states, gearing is a nightmare in this game. Best in slot gear comes from crafting, plain and simple. This can be Voidbent if your build supports it, or it can be orichalcum gear on steroids with all the crafting bonuses you can grab.

This in itself isn’t a problem, but the fact that this gear can ONLY be gained through crafting IS. For people who enjoy grinding up their water marks and doing expeditions, world bosses, portals, etc, they will likely NEVER find gear on par with crafted ones with their specified perks.

And what about the people who enjoy the pvp in this game? Outpost Rush is about all we get. We get some gold, azoth, and a weak lootbox at the end of each round that could possibly contain a named legendary with usually terrible perks.

You’ve created a game where there is ONLY crafting. You don’t need pve raiding, you don’t need pvp, and you don’t really need anything except crafting. This is great news for crafters, but I would imagine that not all people were thinking this would be such a single-tracked game.

A) You don’t know that the best gear in the game is only going to be through crafting, just because it is now.
B) Give the history of most MMO’s crafted gear normally is only good at release, then crafting is pointless as it rarely updated with new crafts.
C) Because of the broken system, the 520 pvp gear is the second best gear in the game right now, and pretty easy to obtain.
D) Crafting is really easy in New World and all modern MMO’s anyways. (i’m like level 100 in armor from only doing town boards)

Actually the arguably best gear (or darn close) is faction gear which you can farm the whole set easily in a day.

I thought this was gonna be a thoughtful thread about perk mods and stats

Craft gear is the best because you can Tailor it for your weapon skill set

Dropped gear regardless of gear score is rarely gonna match your build

You don’t need to level crafting, just pay someone to craft it for you if you don’t have the time for it.

Disagree. Having the end-game gear come from crafting is a nice change, it’s boring to have crafted gear only being a step to do pvp/dungeons.

Crafted gear should be one of top equipment wth opportunity to select stats/perks. If you think that craft legendary item it’s easy - go do it by your self.
Dungeons or some asspunished pvp - must be similar ways to got what you want. But you will farm it more because of random.

That’s not a broken system, they can’t even code a simple perk.

While op is not right, you ain’t either. The xp required to lvl up crafting is heavily exponential. You need 20times as much xp to reach 200 than to reach 100 in crafting.

Also crafting is only usefull for the BIS gear. For everything else it’s useless, worse than any other method.

This is like saying money is only good for the best things in life, it can’t be used to buy things that are not as good.

You said it yourself, it should be “one of” the ways to get the best gear. It should also be attained through pvp or pve

Well good. If you don’t mind then, let’s have the faction rewards be voidbent and orichalcum with a perk of your choice, and crafting gear can be the current faction gear. Since they are the “best”, I’m sure you wouldn’t mind that

Comrade. There is a small detail. If one way to obtain best equipment is hard as hell so others must be too.
For now crafting legendaries (beside lvluping profession) is exactly hard as hell. So any other way must be the same.
Wanna faction gear as top - okey, so you’ll need to farm x tokens and perks on it will not be shown before you’ll buy it.

100% agree gearing needs some serious rework, I have ran almost 200 hours of level 60+ bosses and chests believing that having luck gear would have some sort of benefit. But this is as far from the truth as it gets, because of the insane variation of rolls on epics you are nearly certain that any drop you get is going to be utter garbage because all stars have to align to get a “perfect” roll.

AGS please harmonize gear rolls or bring salvage resources back. Some people enjoy farming resources in the wild others like to farm bosses and chests why can’t both be a viable way to obtain resources?

Are you serious? People have been in full voidbent for weeks man. How many people have you seen in that kind of full gear from hardcore raiders? I’ll save you some time, it’s none.

So they made crafting worth doing. Big deal. Crafters need love too.

And what does PvP have to do with anything? You’re on equal ground with… EVERYONE! What’s the problem? Flag if you want to flag. Noones stopping you.

The biggest shit part of this whole system is the amount of metal it takes to craft your own stuff. They put WAY too much emphasis on metal in this game. Too many professions need it and it’s recycled into higher tier metals. Stupid how they did that (in my opinion).

Nothing you said her has anything to do with what I said. On your first point, you’re arguing a point I never made. What does crafting being “worth doing” have to do with it being the ONLY THING worth doing?

On your second point, in what world do you think PvP is equal when the best gear can only be found in crafting? You clearly do not PvP in the first place since flagging is the only thing you mentioned. You do realize there is both Outpost Rush and wars right?

On your third point…I’m sorry your crafting takes a lot of metal I guess?

I’ve been playing for over 3 years and currently level 60, 578 gear score and a member of a company that has owned (and still owns) multiple territories. I have no idea how you drew that conclusion based off what I said. Everything I said was spot on.

Did you honestly expect to come into this game and be max everything in the first month or two? The devs intended for you to have to work for your gear; work for your stats.

Does it need a bit of polish? Yes! But it is what it is. Maybe you should take a break and come back in a few months.

Hehe and again, you seem to struggle a bit with comprehension. You argue against points that nobody made. I’ll try and clarify for you. Nobody said gearing should be easy. Hm, maybe if I say it twice, you’ll be able to understand. Nobody said gearing should be easy.

Now that we’ve established that, let’s go into what I DID say. I said that the route to your best in slot gear should have multiple ways of obtaining. Currently, ONLY crafting provides your absolute best in slot gear. What I’m proposing is that your best in slot gear should ALSO come from PVE or PVP.

So basically you’re extremely upset over the fact that you can’t on par gear with the one from crafting doing much more easy stuff, right ?

Nevermind the dozens and dozens of hours spent by crafters to gather, refine, craft, harvesting tons of hemp, skinning thousands of animals, chopping tons of trees, mining tons of iron nods, right ? You just wanna get the same level of gear having hella fun duking it out in Outpost Rush or running Elite Chests ( which I’m doing while multitasking other stuff btw, it’s that easy ). “And a weak lootbox” , which basically improves your watermark after having fun and getting easy Coin & Azoth.

Damn ! Why don’t they just give you a full set of Voidbent right now, for just being awesome and not selfish at all ?

The people who were saying Faction Gear is second best were right, until Patch 1.05, due to the Resilient perk not working as indented. You could’ve gotten a full set in a day, just by doing the PvP missions in Great Cleave for a few hours. You probably didn’t even bother to do that. Luckily for all of us, they fixed the Resilient perk so no more bonus overall damage reductions for the lazy.

Also a few people told you this, but I guess you just chose to ignore it : you can get Voidbent by simply asking someone with high level Armoring to make it for you. Can’t get Void Ore by yourself due to being too lazy ( but wanting the best gear in game ) ? Then buy it from the Trading Post. Like you can buy all the other mats. Also, being part of a decent company, you should have at least one guy that could to it for you free of charge.

If you even had the slightest idea about the level of grind to get Voidbent on your very own, farming all mats and crafting it yourself, out of share respect you wouldn’t even have posted this. Do your research, find out how much Orichalcum most people have mined without getting one single Void Ore. I’ve farmed 5K so far ( and that’s really not that much ) and zero, nilch, nada Void Ore. So have others.

Quite honestly, I really really wish Voidbent ( at the very least ) would be BoP, so that none of the people who are too lazy but want to have the best gear would have the chance to grab it. So at the very least be greatful for that.
