What if I told you that if you level with a bow or a firestaff you would get twice and sometimes 3 times the XP a melee would get? This would be huge right? Totally unfair
Ranged might get 2 PVP tracks from just one OPR because they constant shoot from a safe distance with no obstractions and almost no danger.
Melees struggle to even survive.
Make it so you get points from the damage you receive
