The turning orb system is definitely broken, with the mutation system it’s even worse with players being split into different tiers everyone is aiming for, and players saving orbs when it’s Dynasty.
I agree that New World has problems with gear sets, having 4 different harvesting set’s when going for high tier materials is bothersome, having luck on gear and being out farming, then needing to go back for your pvp gear when Company things happen.
That every monster has it’s own ward protection seems excessive if their want us to get 5 different ward’s sets for later when we get different mutated dungeons and if their make higher mutation tiers super difficult.
It’s feels like to much micro managing, don’t really see why all harvesting and ward perks can’t be combined into 1 perk working for all, that would still mean 2 pve set’s 1 for dungeon’s 1 for harvesting and 1 pvp set needed.
Even if someone is only interested in one aspect, but interested in other roles their still need multiple gear sets, that’s also why luck on gear is sorta a problem it just multiplies the different sets players need.
if you prevent pvp players from playing the game a large amount of dedicated people are surely gonna quit, ESPECIALLY if you don’t add some sort of cross server ranked arena together with this
I was talking about some war fatigue after having done 2 war’s in 24 hours for settlements, doing a third settlement war within 24 hours a debuff would be applied to the player then.
Not about excluding players from OPR, open world pvp or whatever other sort of pvp things that be added later.
If their is no discouragement for a Company to hold all settlements. What would stop 1 Company from taking every settlement as you said yourself, that some settlements are so worthless so no one bothers doesn’t seem like the best either.
It doesn’t encourage more pvp between different Companies where some are still gaining experience.
war is the only meaningful pvp content in the game, if you add a cooldown for that say goodbye to your playerbase
settlements making little money means casual companies can fight over them, however they are still casual companies and obviously the better companies get rewarded more for their skill level
nothing stops the best players from taking the whole map but this rarely happens anyway since it’s a stupid ass thing to do lol
and it’s not true that no one bothers with bad settlements, there is war in cutlass and restless all the time
Is pretty simple for casuals to return.
-Copy the entire questline on to a notepad.
-On the quest you need to join a faction change to:
a)I will choose faction A
b)I will choose faction B
c)I will choose faction C
d) don’t you dare to ask me that again
upon choosing option D, player will never ever be flagged to pvp, not even by accident, nor have the key to toggle it on and no faction missions will be offered. Towns will have tokens as well for things as rune of holding, doesn’t matter if is at a higher price. From there, everything else will proceed as planned, meaning all other quests are available.
Factionless players can be hired as mercenaries to sabotage town buildings which might decrease current faction influence, also affecting level of crafting stations.
The trolls that mass ban players in-game with false reports have learned to mass flag the perfectly legitimate posts on this forum that they don’t like.
And I quoted John Wayne, “Life is hard. It’s even harder when you’re stupid.”
I stand by my post. It is stupid to use the F word in a forum. And it is especially stupid to say F casual players. And I definitely believe that the person who wrote that is in for a hard life if they don’t smarten up.
Go ahead and flag this one as well. It won’t change the truth.
EDIT: I just noticed that Moseidon’s filthy post was not flagged, but my response was. Incredible, but just more support for my claim that the trolls are mass reporting the posts that they don’t like.
You insult people and stand by it? That doesnt make you smart, you are way worse, than those, who you like to offend. But they are much smarter than you.
Indeed since I dont see any way AGS can make additional funds on this title any time soon. The only way to attract “new” and “previous” players and pull in revenue would be to make it a F2P with micro-transactions for cosmetics.
They’d have to really beef up the cash shop, because for most of the stuff in there now, I wouldn’t pay a quarter of what they’re asking, and I’m not particularly microtransaction-averse. A lot of it looks like level two grey drops from other MMOs.
Bring in shipbuilding and exploration of smaller islands within the corruption storm and allow Crews rather than Companies who can outfit the ships like guild houses as a look at this funky stuff deal rather than a house NOONE sees- doh.
Allow flagging of ships and letters of marque vs factions and of course ability to opt out of PvP on the sea as a trader fisher explorer.
Make crafting areas enable making things for the ships - weapon smith specialisation into Cannon and other more mystical ship stuff. Armour specialisation into Hull armour (dreadnoughts), arcane into magic sails, Furnishing to add cargo hold space or magic figureheads as a start not new grind addition to work done and make worth doing not RNG which is worse than loot rolls.
I reckon this would promote some interest … yeah ok :-/
I agree. I actually wanted to support them while I was still playing but the armor on there was just plain ugly. I wanted to look bad ass, not court jester.
Yes I would like all that until I went to a dock and I was charged tax for the company that owns the dock. Because you know AGS would do something stupid like that.
I think getting players to retry starts with building confidence. People just gotta realize they still stand by pretty much all of their decisions that people don’t like, and they seem incapable of reacting in real-time to feedback or reactions to PTR.
If players are gonna come back, AG gets to saddle up for a long haul to bring em back, because it’s shit like outsourced CS, and repeating feedback they got for PTR after fielding the change.
I don’t know if the game itself has actually done nearly as much damage as AG themselves, whose constant corner cutting has left people understanding that a AAA studio simply isn’t interested in appealing or listening to them.
