1- As @facelid said, please close the game client and steam and relaunch it.
2- Can you please check the integrity of the game files:
Restart your computer and launch Steam.
From a game’s library page, select Manage > Properties.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files… button.
Steam will verify the game’s files - this process may take several minutes.
Restart your internet connection.
Unplug the router and the modem. If you have other managed network hardware, such as network switches, unplug that hardware.
3- Ultimately, if problem persist can you please uninstalling the game, then, Windows+r to open Run, type in “%appdata%” and hit enter, under roaming open “AGS” folder, Delete new world folder, Empty Recycling Bin, download New World and try again.
