I’m typically both a PvE and PvP player but with New World so far I’ve been exclusively PvE while leveling. However, as I near 60 I’m starting to think about doing some PvP.
Can anyone recommend a starter PvP build? Also I assume just flagging up and getting my ass kicked a couple times is the best way to learn? Or would something like OPR be better for learning?
Depends on what weapons you want to use, and what kind of play style you like.
And, yes, failing is the best way to learn anything.
I guess I’m asking for a recommendation on a good choice for introductory weapons and play style. Or just something you like that you think might be good for a new player. Just gathering some options!
The options are numerous. Literally any weapon combination is good for any skill level. Want to be up close and personal? Try heavy armour with an axe and sword/shield. Like to stay far away and take pot shots? Maybe a bow, musket, or even fire staff.
Perhaps you like supporting your team! Try a life staff 
My point is, experiment with everything and see what you like the best. There is no “best for noob” build. Every build is viable.
