Giant oversight? New food heavily nerfs builds that were already weak

A new consumable food is being added to the game called Desert Sunrise. This food reduces the duration of Damage Over Time spells by up to 35% for 40 minutes.

Bleed Rapier builds heavily rely on building up bleed stacks in order to execute targets. This single consumable nerfs such builds by a huge margin. Where setting up 3 Tondo stacks would typically do ~540% weapon damage, they now will only do ~350% weapon damage.

Imagine having the damage of your build reduced by 35%, simply because your opponent decided to consume some food beforehand.

DoT builds have never been powerful in New World due to the abundance of healing. Why are these builds getting gutted?

The Rapier bleed tree had already been gutted to death and still can’t get buffed, please don’t let this go forward it’s bad game design imo.

I’d imagine the 40 attribute food and the new food are mutually exclusive.

I doubt many people will choose anti-bleed food over 40 attribute points.

According to nwdb.info the food has the exclusivity label “ResistBoost”. Attribute bonuses will not be removed when consuming this food.
