Who would care crafting due to dungeon drops is broken anyway and needs rework asap. This crafting bonus is for new players to catch up.
I have been here since Destiny Stress Test (phase before Alpha preview event and Alpha 3), I welcome the double XP for trade skills.

Im 200 in a few professions. I welcome the xp bonus and i dont feel it diminishes my achievements.
Exactly, especially if it applies to aptitude. It means it benefits veterans and new players. So why object to it?

From what I am assuming, more higher tier crafters = less opportunity for them to make gold.
Considering the low volume of players, I would think this change will help. As a new player, I am very discouraged by the cost of crafting. I’m not poor and I farm mats but it is taking a lot and I am losing interest in that part of the game.

Anyway, who still crafts? Guess main guild persons in large guilds? The crafting system is really not all that useful for most players IMO. It could use a overhaul.
Anyway, as to OP, it was originally too hard and of too little use, the XP should have been more but they actually made it harder. Any new players won’t even bother even if the XP was quadrupled, because it is not worth it.
And in all games stuff has to be made quicker for new players to feel like sticking around.
The real time commitment are the endless attempts on legendaries.
They previously made it dramatically more expensive forncertain professions from the initual game launch. Its fluctuated quite a bit based on when you were levelling. Early on it was pretty fast to hit 200.
Some became overly grindy. Best thing devs can do is make the system good for all going forward. Let the community brag about their toil in the background but make it a good system to grow the player base.
Some have had it easy and some have had it hard. There’s no way to make all happy.

Double Exp weekends have been around for such a long time. They don’t undermine your achievement. You choose it to be. Why do you care that other people get 1 weekend. Maybe instead of double exp it should be leaching exp where your exp is taken instead. Then you can complain that it undermines your achievement.
They should give crafting xp a bump so that its exactly as easy as it was to level a skill at launch.
I was busy gearing and doing pvp back then and in the meantime they made crafting take twice as long and way more costly to level.
I will happily sell people mats who want to finally get their armoring and weapon crafting up.
