Glass cannon in M10s

Hey all, so i wanna you guys what do you think about the glass cannon build in M10s? is it viable like if you go with 5 con and light armor with full ward? for me as a mage am thinking about trying this build but i wanna know your thoughts first : )

5 con dps is meta for m10 speedruns, so its actually preffered. I don’t know if I’m allowed to link sites here, but send me a dm and I can give you the speed run build site that will help you out.

idk i feel like ur a bit squishy tbh with the 5 con u need a good tank to pull all mobs otherwise am dead

A bad tank is going to get you killed regardless. You are squishy yes but you get used to it. Learn the mechanics that hurt and you will be fine. Almost every source of damage in this game is avoidable, so it just takes experience. Just get the ward gear, and use gems in your armor tailored to the mutation type.

Source: I pug gold m10’s all the time with no issue as 5 con dps

Thats rly cool, one last thing, isnt the opal is a better choice? I mean overall elem resistance is better no?

Not in mutations, because 50% of all mob damage is converted to the element of the mutation. So if its ice mutation, all mobs deal damage as 50%normal and 50% ice. Therefore, ice gems are used in armor. You could use opals or onyx depending on if you have the rune glass gems, but that’s a separate story.

Oh i thought only specific enemies deals 50% dmg not all, so i should forget about my plan to run with runeglass and opal huh? As a mage

I don’t get how you can stay alive. I die in 1 hit sometimes if I’m wearing full warded gear with appropriate gems with 100 con in light armor.

would like that link aswell!

I’d consider 5 con too risky, but I’ve seen people do it. I typically run 100 con and light armor.

Just ran a M10 Laz Gold, in 24:48, and I think the lowest on the team was 50 con. So you can definitely still get really solid times at 50-100 con.

Unless you are trying to speedrun a record or something, I find 50-100 con the sweet spot for consistently running if you wanna farm the m10.

Best advice is to run 5 con and get used to it. You’re safe long as you’re aware of mechanics and dodging when needed.

Worst advice especially if you run pugs. You will likely be a liability because of how much you’ll get downed. You can’t trust your pug healer. 5 con is only for speed runners

It is viable as long as you know perfectly what to do. Otherwise you will be dying a lot.

Not really the worst advice. Rarely go down and it’s the players with higher con that tend to go down because they’ve gotten comfortable sitting a high hp in regular dungeons.

In mutations, you have a high chance of getting 1 shot or nearly 1 shot regardless of your hp. I’m giving him advice that will prepare him for higher mutations and dodging specifically, so how is that bad advice? He’ll be a more skilled player overall after he’s adapted. Also, he will be generating more DPS than the average DPS player.

It’s very much a YMMV kind of deal.

If you’re not already an expert, start with a bit more con and then work your way down.

100->50->5

Once you know the mechanics and how to approach each pull, it’s better for the group if you run as much damage as possible. Dead DPS = 0 DPS, but dead mobs = 0 threat.

The key about running 5con is to have way to get cap fortify

Also ward and full gems + neck helps a ton so that if you get hit you wont be instantly killed.

5 con is a huge risk unless you are in a specific group that applies max rend, weaken, groups things up, CCs, and helps keep fortify capped at all times…and everyone runs it with such high dps that things die before mechanics kill them (boss fights are fairly easy to run 5 con with…)

Those telling you that If you git gud, that is the way to play clearly don’t understand the content or group comps well :stuck_out_tongue:

Also depths - don’t do it…ha. Waaaay too much chaos in there.

Survivability > low con dps
Im not sure if this game have some additive or multiplicative system to its damage output but stuff like bane ,rogue, chain, attunement, is much better than add attribute to ur damage stat(int str dex …) i believe stats are additive and damage perks are multiplicative and like others said low cons used for speed runs with a good grp , personally i saw so many low cons dps while running with randoms get clapped easily and can’t do dps while they are downed and waiting for other dps to revive them and it wasn’t on healer or tank’s fault but their own cuz they didn’t dodge aoe attacks or hard hitting swings …
