This made me chuckle, especially because youâre so confidently incorrect! ![]()
14% of players quit before reaching level 10. 30%+ before level 20 and we are down to 50% of players by level 30 yet you still insist most people left because of exploits/cheating?
Check achievements for stats.
First off, it doesnât matter the level someone is. If market is getting flooded with dupes, or exploits are being abused, of course itâs going to turn them off from the game. And if AGS doesnât ban exploiters, exploiting will continue to run rampant. I know, the game probably wont be nearly as fun for you when you canât abuse exploits, but youâll learn to love it!
Second off, youâre not accounting for the approximately 2.5 million other players. Even if 100k of those players wouldâve stayed, thatâs a significant portion of potential revenue for New World.
Instead weâre down to 20k players (not necessarily concurrent) peak.
Oh yes it does
The market/economy and any cheats/exploits are not going to effect you while running the first few quests and story in the starting regions. It is just run around and kill stuff, collecting things while doing so.
What was the point of you quoting the
in your argument as that number is way off and irrelevant to exploits/cheats and the leaderboard?
The market/economy is definitely going to influence a newer playerâs decision to play the game. A new player is going to spend 5-10 hours playing the game, doing random quests/gathering. Once they go to the TP and see itâs flooded with .01 greenwood, and other mats, of course itâs going to turn them off from the game. Every single dupe occurrence had significant player drops according to NWDB charts.
Ultimately, well over 99% of the player base is gone. I didnât mean to imply that every player left because of exploits (if thatâs what you interpreted, my apologies). But exploits (more so, the lack of allowing them), is a significant reason people are quitting.
LOL. Because they have so much interaction with the TP before they reach level 30
, if you say so. Obviously you were buying and selling loads of stuff to make money at level 20 or so. Cheap mats would be a major benefit to players under level 30 or were you just logging/mining/gathering to sell everything and buy BiS gear?
Yes, and so many (including you) seem to know the exact reason they left. It almost always coincides with the thing that person is complaining about ![]()
In their defence @Yueying and @halfik , they may have stumbled across a glitch by accident with no knowledge of how it triggered, then finished the dungeon, and now they r on top of leaderboard with no knowledge of how they got that score.
Itâs important not to assume guilty intent by default, otherwise innocent people get hurt in the crossfire
The trouble with this claim:
Is that the banned players arenât allowed to type on this forum, and those that have purchased a new account donât want to reveal that they were previously banned (incase it further violates terms of service)
So you never get information from the banned community to confirm or deny this claim, however, if you have been previously banned before, you would know that ags do indeed ban players for exploits, if you know what Iâm saying,âŚâŚ
Another thing you might find interesting is that 2/3 of players played the game for less than 80 hours and left within the first 2 months. What exploits/cheats did they come across in that time?
The most obvious answer would be that a lot of people bought the game before realising it was not the type of game for them.
Every single expo has had bugs since day 1 and some were never fixed. Its rare for anyone to run a mutation like the game would expect. Its hard to get a run where the other players donât EXPECT you to just use the glitches. The glitches and cheese became META and no game lives long with that., The status quo for NW is to cheat and exploit because thatâs what the devs created.
And this has what to do with the 50% of players that left before level 30? Only 20% of players even reached level 60 let alone ran a mutation.
Nothing obviously⌠itâs to do with the title postâŚ
Obviously, but nothing to do with the conversation you jumped into.
learn to read
I can, which is why I questioned @yipperyapper 's comment that exploits/cheats and the leaderboards are the reason why
this game has lost over 99% of the player base
You were the one that replied to my comment that
Another thing you might find interesting is that 2/3 of players played the game for less than 80 hours and left within the first 2 months. What exploits/cheats did they come across in that time?
with your comment about expeditions and mutations. Did you actually read my comment or the previous comments in that conversation?
I saw it at eldorado leaderboardâŚtheyâre not even make big 20 in clear time so i think its clearly a bug
I can tell youâre new to the game (totally fine)!
Sure. 3.1k hours. Very new.
Thats why there should be a range of tmp ban from 1 up to 14 days. Next one 7-14 days or perma. And 3rd one perma.
So ppl that do exploit by accident just stop moment they figure out or get short tmp ban couse you never know if they did it on purpose or not.
Straight to jail. Right away.
They are not on the list for time (or outside of range). It makes me think they were able to get nodes to respawn or something?
Exploit, the score isnât possible doing the run in time/100% completion.
