You would think they had better designers at AGS.
People who don’t understand how the structure of a scalable application and a database works usually think that just typing a few lines in a console and everything goes back to normal, as how to identify this type of infraction, all its ramifications and where and where it impacts were not a Herculean job that could take weeks, as we are talking about hundreds of affected servers.
PS.: Next time have at least the manhood (AKA balls) to point the targets of the criticisms before throwing them to the wind, sowing the seeds of ignorance.

honestly, Server transfers should have instantly been suspended apon this bug becoming known. Servers should have been taken down. until a repair could be made. The impact is gonna be so large on a scale beyond understanding. It doesnt just effect gold. It effects tradeskills being exploited, Auction Houses being destroyed. This is going to be a huge issue, the longer it goes the more impact its going to have to the entire player base and active players. TAKE THE SERVERS DOWN!

Strange that AGS does not completely lock accounts (block login) during transfer-process. That’s a huge oversight.
Sorry but simply banning the cheaters will do nothing. If they are buying out the entire trading post including overpriced items it has made other players rich. At this point, you will need to roll the servers back. I understand you guys are doing what you can but if you don’t have a way to roll back servers then I have no idea why you didn’t bring them down to minimize the damage. I understand you guys are doing what you can but I would have rather had servers down for an entire day than see irreversible damage done to the game.

In Archeage, little beat in BDO also was dupes. But they solved that without rollback, just individually banned, rollbacked accounts and etc. But there wasn’t info (how to dupe) shared for thousands of players.
Aside from not taking the servers down, the most incompetent part of all of this is leaving character transfers on. The fact that they didn’t simply disable that to isolate the exploit to specific servers while this is being taken care of blows my mind.

So another badly coded aspect. This was most likely manually tested instead of writing comprehensive test and then coding the feature.
I’m going to guess that the database is implemented in some derivative of SQL so writing a small script to find players with capped gold is not unfathomable. However, did AGS implement a table for trade history? If so no roll back would be needed as you can once again write a small script to subtract the traded gold from the table with the player info, it is unlikely given their track record their tables are joined extensively.
(Sigh). Dead game is dead game.

- Players use it as currency to trade with each other
- Players use it to pay taxes on craft stations
- Players use it to pay for houses to get more storage and buffs
- Companies use gold to start town projects to evolve craft stations
- Companies use gold to start town projects to evolve town defenses and avoid invasions to destroy stations
Who’s not uses gold? People that’s not playing it as MMORPG nor making any king of lifeskill.
