When you learn a schematic, you actually have to salvage it. Salvaging it means that you have learned it unless you have already learned it before.

When you salvaged/learned the schematic, it disappears, it is deleted…

I just had the exact same issue. I lost a Painted Teak Chest, Rosewood Armchair and 1 moer schematic.
That sucks.
