that was just the excuse so they could pull the executive decision of target a bigger audience. Now they fucked up the game for everyone, but hey, people will blame pvpers, they are geniuses.

PvPers keep screaming that it’s an ‘excuse’ and ‘debunked’ but don’t actually prove anything. They just think they can change reality by screaming loud enough.
the proof is that anyone with a little knoledge of the gaming industry KNOW for a fact that if you develop a full loot pvp mmo, you will find griefing and toxic behaviour and you need to make changes around it.
There is ABSOLUTELY no way that someone funded a full loot pvp game and then in the alpha went ‘‘omg, I dindn’t expected some people to kill other just cause they can, no no no, wee need to change the focus of this game, we never saw this coming in a full loot pvp game’’.
even all your actitudes toward the pvper are the biggest proof of this, if you guys know so well that pvp can bring toxic players, you really expect me to believe that AGS was taken by surprise by it?? really??

One of the problems we observed with this system was that some high level players were killing low level players, A LOT. Sometimes exclusively. This often led to solo or group griefing scenarios that created a toxic environment for many players. To be clear, this behavior was not shown by all PvP players, but enough to cause significant issues.
We set out to build a compelling world full of danger and opportunity that begs to be explored. The intended design was never to allow a small group of players to bully other players. Based on what we saw, we realized that we needed to make fundamental changes and not just incremental fixes, (which we tried several times during the Closed Alpha).
There has been speculation that we have moved away from PvP, this isn’t the case at all. PvP is important to us and we are committed to ensuring it plays a significant role in our game. To be specific, by PvP we mean, fair fights that are organized, skill based, and opted into by all participants. Not PKing (Player Killing), which is a predatory behavior that relies on exploiting another player’s lack of experience, progress, readiness, or willingness. So for those folks who desire that harsh PVP environment, New World may not be your favorite game, however, we do hope you enjoy the PVP we will offer.
It’s amazing that you can just release one article telling your players what they want and don’t want, causing your main target audience to completely abandon the game, and the brainlets left over will just eat it up.

20 years of PVP servers in MMOs. But THIS is the game PVPers just couldn’t figure out. It just couldn’t work. This game is different somehow. We couldn’t work on level scaling or city guards that other MMOs use to combat this exact problem. We just had to yank the entire core game design out.
Yeah okay. The developers choked. They made boomer decisions like boomers in upper management do to appeal to the streamers and their audiences at great expense to the game. They pulled out core game designs and replaced it with nothing.

Yet those ‘adults’ are lying and trying to blame everyone but the toxic PKers who are literally the reason why the game changed, according to the devs.
But those ‘adults’ say ‘The devs lied!’ and think that invalidates an official quote.

I guess, if saying ‘That’s debunked’ magically makes it true, these same people can say 'I’m an adult!" and think that becomes true, too.
Can we at least allow them to make sure the game is stable before breaking out the torches and pitchforks, over content?
Give the game some time. Hopefully they will implement better PvP play in the future. I’m hoping a PvP que that will take us to a PvP environment. I just hope they give out good rewards in the end.

Don’t think anyone is saying that had no knowledge, but it’s clear they didn’t expect the level of behavior they saw.
As I’ve said before, to make Amazon do a complete 180, even though they spent time and resources speaks loudly on how messed up those people must have been acting. AGS didn’t want to entertain or anything to do with them anymore. Reading some of these Alpha PVP threads, i can see why.
At the end of the day, those who actually want to PvP still can and are. Can they improve it? Yes, and they will, but they’re not gonna bring back the Alpha style due to certain PvPers behavior. It’s that simple

It would be more simplified if it didn’t count hits but if you killed them or not. If you get the last hit and they die it counts as you killing them. if you hit them and they die to a mob, then it counts as PvE death.
Archage was trash. That pvp system was terrible. Your own faction could attack you so you had zero way to know who you had to watch out for. What’s the purpose of having factions if everyone in the game can kill you?
Also the concept for getting currency in the game was garbage. You had to grind for days to collect up a bunch of packs to turn in that once you left the safty of your home you could get ganked and someone else takes everything and gets credit for all your work on turn ins and you get no money for it.
This made it to where large groups of people would have to travel for safety and if you didn’t play at prime time when these things were happening you basically could never own anything worth having in the game.
It was a joke system for pvp and easily one of the biggest pieces of trash for pvp that I’ve ever seen. Not to mention end game gear was crafted and came from highly contested areas that were really hard to get anything out of and even if you did there was a chance that when you tried to upgrade your weapon it would just explode and you were without a weapon at all at that point.
The game had some great ideas but it was extremely poorly executed.
