Why are we trying to convince individuals to flag for PvP; I thought we had a duel function for a reason?
There was a criminality system. It didnât help, they would just get in big enough groups and massacre the new players coming up the beach, or surround the forts and take peoples resources when they tried to bank it.
The groups were so big, there was nothing anyone could do to stop it. Most of the Alpha players quit before it was over.
Sounds about right for every zerg game with open world PvP.
Why do you have crafting skills in the game? Why can you collect herbs from the ground and chop treeâs and turn them into resources and make money/rewards?
Uhhh, itâs called gameplay.
Funnily, PVPâers wants gameplay as well. They want a reward structure as well and they want risk vs reward to exist.
You might not want any of that, but then why do you care? you can just continue collecting your herbs in safety and collect your rewards in safety.
AGS adding incentives to PVP-toggle, wonât disrupt your gameplay, since nobody forces you to change your gameplay style.
I do disagree with that, yes. Some are happy with the wins they get, doesnât need to be more than the losses.
Thatâs kind of besides the point though. PVE players do need more content to stay satisfied, as pointed out by the OP. Its not derisive to point that, and deflecting by trying to frame it as a criticism of PVE players is unproductive.
I suspect AGS are aware that they need to develop more content to satisfy their new target audience, and they will likely provide such content. Iâd wager that theyâll end up making way more money than they would have if theyâd stuck to their original audience of PvP players. On the other hand, they might just crash and burn. If this game had targeted PvP players as originally intended, it would maintain a healthy playerbase with high probability, but they wouldnât have the money making potential they have targeting PvE players. Nor would they have had the development burden associated with targeting PvE players, as pointed out by the OP.
The only useful competitive PvP mode is instanced matches with proper matchmaking.
Thatâs why competitive e-sports are all instanced small-team.
Overland and massed fights are all about winning and we see that mentality with the lag exploit and people defending it as ânormal gameplayâ.
New World tried very hard to save overland PvP and mass-combat PvP but they are just failing in the usual ways other games have failed in the last 20 years.
The only real way they can make good money with open world PvP is full pay 2 win. Like EVE Online. And then donât care about people getting toxic.
At least with the PvP being opt-in only there will always be a useful playable game in PvE.
Why do you need extra PVE rewards for engaging in pvp? That makes no sense at all. You should be asking for pvp centric rewards for engaging in pvp.

Thatâs the thing though, you arenât speaking for PvPers.
At best, youâre speaking for the percentage of people that want reward without the risk. Because between Pandora Saga, ArcheAge, Firefall, Aion, EVE, and so many other games you have players that talk about the terrible state of PvP only when something doesnât benefit them. Or something is seriously broken.
Also good luck trying to convince anyone that being toggled for non-consensual PvP is not going to result in a disruption of gameplay. I think think this statement alone is a pretty clear indication of what youâre looking for.

Friendly reminder closed beta pvp was the most fun pvp in the last 3 states of the game (closed beta, open beta, full release) but some baby cryers wants to âlvl means somethingâ and start crying because some âlvl 30 kill themâ the problem is mmorpgs player base its destroyed by a tons of complains, âi need a mini mapâ âi need a mountâ âi need to be overpowered by lvl and items in pvpâ i lost my faith in mmo genre, the new player base of this genre is pure crap.

Iâve been playing MMORPGs for almost 20 years now. I donât need to be âenlightenedâ about how they work or the PVP mindset.
You get to control entire territories in game by participating in PVP. Entire settlements are won and lost through PVP, which affects the game for everyone involved. The game rewards you enough. Being able to jump people who are out fishing isnât engaging gameplay. Itâs bullying. Nothing more., Hence why it was made an option.
UmmâŚmaybe because itâs nothing like WOW and was advertised as PVP optional?
I could also ask if you like to run around in mindless zergs ganking people, why didnât you stay in Fortnite?

Adding incentives (REWARDS) for pvp is no different than getting rewards for PVE.
You still have to TOGGLE-ON to pvp, so its NOT non-consensual pvp anyone here is asking for.
Weâre asking for AGS to ADD rewards for pvping, so that MORE PLAYERS are encouraged to consider PVP-toggling!

Only POSSIBLE way you could claim so, is if you are so greedy that you want everything.
You want the pve rewards, but you also want PVP rewards even if you donât wanna PVP?
If not⌠then whats the issue? nobody is telling u to PVP, but were asking AGS to add rewards FOR PVPING, so that players that enjoy this far more than PVE, are also rewarded for their time and for what they do in the game.

Come back and check things out when new content has been added, or you see something of interest. Itâs that simple.
Complaining is not going to make changes, or content come any faster.
This game is in the state itâs in specifically because of alpha complaining.

Better open world pvp rewards are needed. NOT tied to the quests. Individual personal rewards or buffs.
Feedback exactly like OPs is over 1 year old. The community has been giving their suggestions to improve the game and screaming the impact their changes will have on longevity. This post is a validation of someone reaching the realization that alpha and beta testers did a while ago.
There hasnât been any shortage of suggestions from extremely experienced and intelligent MMO players here so telling OP to give ideas comes of as you trying to minimize his feedback.
I never saw this game in its PvP only form, now I wish I did. Im a PvE person, but will EASILY swap PvP if the game is good enough.
