I don’t understand what you’re trying to get at. You probably fell into the trap of “wanting to be right” so you argue about my knowledge of PvE but my main argument is that Paladins are broken and you keep confirming that.
What the paladin achieves alone is supposed to be the result of a Tank+Healer duo. Both in PvE and PvP.
But they dont achieve that alone in late game PVE. in a expedition or a high level out door dungeon I can die pretty quick w/o a dedicated healer just like anyone else. The build gives up pretty much all damage for tankiness and some off healing which is when a tank is truly suppose to do (sans the healing but its needed because of terrible tuant aggro management in game). Right now you have tanks putting out DPS like damage with 15k health IMO that’s what needs a Nerf if anything for PVE.
This is the most delusional post I’ve ever read. I play with a ton of healer mains and pretty much all of them will tell you it’s OP, as well as being the absolute easiest thing to play in New World. Most healers in OPR will literally just stand there crouch spamming in 1v1s to troll DPS knowing they can’t die. It’s obvious you don’t actually experience real PVP in NW.
But let’s talk about it not being a 1v1 game, shall we? Balance STEMS from 1v1 and the simple fact you think the current version of 50v50 and 20v20 in this game is OK makes you’re nothing but flat out delusional. Wars and OPR battles boil down to 20-50 people balling up on eachother and wacking other DPS endlessly while not dying. I’ve literally been in fights with 10 fire mages unloading on a single front line and his HP barely moving because he’s sitting in heals and being spammed.
The reason wars and OPR are DYING on even the most populated servers is BECAUSE of how bad healing is. Wars are very little about macro and very much about having 50 people in full heavy with onyx gems and healers to keep them up. Yes there are some good war companies but the bottom line is the meta for wars is just not fun to play and people are over it. So long as this game boils down to clump on a ball of heals and spam left click it will continue to be a bad PVP game.
And the simple fact is that the reason the meta is the way it is, is because life staff (and heavy armor) are severely overtuned while light armor and DPS are severely undertuned. The game does not punish poor kiting and positioning and assassinations aren’t a thing because everyone’s too tanky. The game needs assassin style play to promote macro and improve player kiting and CD use. Right now there’s none of that. It’s just SPAM CDs AS SOON AS THEYRE UP BOYS.
People are quitting because the PVP is awful, not because they can’t be a 1v10 immortal God.
I’ve played games with siege mechanics of 500v500 and 5000v5000 and the fact that New World functions in a similar PVP style as a literal zerg game in a simple 20v20 or 50v50 is just straight bad game design. 10 people should instant kill anyone, regardless of gear. HOT heals are NOT A THING IN REAL PVP GAMES. The fact HOT heals can outparse a players damage, and even MULTIPLE players damage, and you defend it, borders on insanity. Healers should have to USE heals to keep people alive. Not sit on a circle and spam left click. I can program a bot to do what you do in PVP in under an hour.
The playerbase has died, and most of my pvp-focused friends moved on once they realized how world pvp turned out with heavy life staffs everywhere immortal.
How do you think world pvp is gonna be if life staff remains this overtuned upon release of flagged luck? It means only life staff players will farm safely and the rest will be running around avoiding them. It will be a DOA pvp patch and people like you are not just ignorant but you’re partly killing the game by wanting to abuse broken mechanics.
Also, everything else you mentioned in your post about GA users are bugs related to foods, not because the GA is broken. The fact you compare bugs to your overperforming main is absolutely insane.
Single target healing in War with the Targeting system in the Game is almost impossible thats why AOE heals are about the only Viable thing. Spec healer and go try to single target heal people on a point in War you will be usless.

On that we agree. The first thing to do is nerf the healing/damage in HA. Still paladins should not have access to so much fortify, it should be removed from LS.
When I say Just like Anyone else Im and referring to the LS swap Sorry. Multiple mobs on you when you swap can be pretty much Insta Death is the serious draw back in the build that other tank builds do not have. other tank builds never swap they just stand there brainlessly left click spamming 3 buttons and walking in a circle skillessly.
The Paladin build is honestly the only Tank build in the game in PVE that takes any skill to play.

That’s still the fault of the life staff, not the rest of the game. The game shouldn’t be bad just because they couldn’t create better healing mechanics. Other action games have functional healing that doesn’t rely on AOE HOTs and are reliant on target selection.
The fact they were too lazy to properly make a healer tree is not an excuse for it being an AOE HOT heal spam game. I’ve said this before but the entire life staff tree is garbage and needs reworking. They need to completely rethink healing in this game because it’s honestly the core problem with the game.

Honestly you make it look like you’re the one never having played actual PvE content, not with more than ONE fixed group anyway. Other tank builds swap a lot.
Tank builds other than typically IG/Tomb tanks dont really require much swapping on Bosses in expeditions to actually tank something significant like a boss. I don’t count clearing trash as something you need tanking skills to swap for. I typically dont need to Swap to my LS much when clearing trash if there is a dedicated healer I do on pulls of multiple mobs for Aggro sake but its not required because of shield bash/defiant stance.

Need less HoT healing and more skill based healing, more healing on LMB & charge LMB should heal was well.
I agree with you that healing talents for the lifestaff feel like they weren’t well thought out and implemented well. I don’t however, agree that it’s the CORE problem with the game.
The core problem is their coding. They’re using a trash game engine and then removed stagger from the game while leaving weapon talents broken and sluggish for most, while some of them are still broken. IE- Musket, bow, firestaff, ice gauntlet and even javelin on the spear you’ll sometimes get the old non registry and it goes right thru the mob or player. Hitboxes are joke on here.
Meanwhile respawns are ridiculous and should have been one of the main easy fixes they should have rolled out but haven’t yet. You’ll be on a dead server and kill a few mobs in a cave and they’ll instantly respawn in certain areas. Someone needs to go thru and change respawn timers and at least do some due diligence and check the timers on all the mobs.
From a healer’s perspective on a dead server and I’ve only gotten to play OPR (once) while all the bugs were going on. I found myself only able to tank 2 players in heavy gear full focus spec’d. Now, I tell you there is a difference in healing and almost like an artificial lag or extra time to respawn to using healing abilities right after another.
Not sure how I feel about the nerfing of the healing abilities, it gonna suck doing expeditions or PvE content but if it’s nerfed to a point where no one wants to heal. I guess we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it right? Seems like AGS perspective in the matter rather than putting in actual work and fixing core things.
And anti heal would be good. Like imagine if rapier or bow poison shot had a grevious wounds effect that reduced healing by 60%

I am a bow/rapier user and all I can say that your idea is totally unreal. 60% of reducing healing power? Bruh, come on … We do not like to make one meta build after another, we want to all builds be more equal…

I can do it 1v1 even before nerfs. You guys dont use CC and you need to push them out of the zone… You guys need to learn how to play… If you tell me that the tank use a life staff to Stall, I would likely more understand.
It works pretty nice in pve, but still yea, that’s a shit tree, thats why none use it.
But reducing healing power by 60% on rapier would make all people use rapiers.
This is the thing we do not want here. Make people change from 1 ultimate weapon to another.
