Don’t forget to check the Known Issues List to see if your issue is currently being worked on by the dev team.
We also have existing workaround for some issues that you can find here:
What is your character name in New World: Thremendus
What server/world did you experience your issue on: Difu (US East) but it happens everywhere.
Describe the issue you are experiencing: GPU usage drops in certain areas or when you look back (turn around). Which leads to a massive FPS drop.
Is this a bug or an exploit: BUG
(if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: Frames go from a stable 80-90FPS to mid 30s
(if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: Happens all the time, very annoying.
What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Look down in a city >> then up (normal view) you will see GPU usage tank, GPU core clock go up and FPS go down.
PC setup:
CPU: 5950x AMD
GPU: RTX 3090 FE (not OC)
Ram: G.Skill Trident Royal 64GB (3600Mhz)
Mobo: Asus Dark Hero VII
My computer setup includes as the original poster the AMD 5950x CPU and an Nvidia RTX 3090 GPU. I have tried underclocking, overclocking and just normal settings on the GPU, same result. The utilization of the GPU drops to 20% and the FPS tanks to below 30 FPS. By just shaking the mouse left and right I have been able to see drops down to 3 FPS. Even with FPS over 80 FPS, the game lags a lot. Some times the lag when turning (left or right) the mouse cancel the gathering like harvesting trees, berries, mining ores and so forth. I have no isse running any other games or heavy GPU loads other than this game. There need to be something fundamentally wrong in your game and rendering engine that causes so many of us to have all these wired problems and issues. Hope you can put some effort into solving the fundamental problems you have in the game and rendering engine and so forth. And please invest a bit more in your QA department. You are owned by the wealthiest man alive so he should start caring for his brand and do the needed investments in to QA. Anyway, still love the game and enjoy it when it is running somewhat on the upside.
Keep up teh good job and hope to see some fixes coming our way sooner than later. We know there is a lot of hard working people on the game.

My fps tanks at the very end of OPR when the first screen comes up after win/loss notification. Just for a bit while it’s transitioning. Fine afterwards.
