Gravity Well Destroyed On PTR

Yep, same as me then…only difference I already quit.
I tried some other builds but I really loved the feeling with GA and the skillset Charge (eventhough its so broken and more often act as a selfroot than gapcloser lol), Reap (when its not propelling the enemies away) and gravwell (you know when you get that awesome hit that just stop the enemy zerg), and maelstrom (when it actually hits).

But with desync and lungenerf it completely broke the game for me. Im not top 1% that can make any broken weapon work…just an average player so not beeing able to stick to target when i finally get in range just killed GA for me.

Oh no, did they nerfed your OP weapon and now you’re unhappy with the fact you can no longer take advantage of that and have to come up with actual tactics. Too bad I guess

This is the second hard nerf and the first one already made it take some skill to be good with the bad weapon. thats why every GA player switched to dex.

Im not even a GA player but after seeing this nerf i wont be scared or pressured to use a dodge to get out of its only useful ability ever. i can make a big brain out play and hold w and escape the only skill you had to be fearful of getting caught by.

Here’s a hottake/conspiracy theory. They are nerfing it so everyone stops using it because the animation is lagging wars… Instead of fixing lag issues, break anything that causes lag so everyone stops using them. Bam, lag issues fixed, you’re welcome…

big brain

This change would be fine if the weapon still had basic atacks with efective lunge (basically gravity well stops being a root and is basically a short time aoe slow). Bu the nerf is still too strong even in this optimistic scenario, if it’s gona be a snare they have to short the skill cooldown or boost the duration of the skill or both.

Also i would like some clarification if this skill still roots, because there’s a GA perk that roots every pull for 0.25 sec.

Personally think they over-did it. You should have to at least spend an ability to get out of grav well.

what u said makes no sense

As someone who hated the lunge, I do think they overdid it. What I would love to see but know that we won’t is for all characters to be more mobile (let me run and gun with fire staff damn it) and then give great axe its chase back.

I want everyone to have fun controlling their characters… And so should AGS.

THE JOY OF MOVEMENT!

Does anyone know if you can dodge out? Or are you forced to walk out and prevented from dodging like frost bite? If you can’t dodge while in there the ability is still good, if you can then it is complete trash and needs to be fixed.

i dont see the issue. if someone gets caught in grav well, they will still have to deal with people going in and stunlocking them. since they cant dodge, they cant iframe. its still a death sentence if you dont have and escape. I have still been getting kills, maybe its a git good issue? is that why every GA user is complaining about it?

you can just walk out of grav well in ptr and also dodge the damg from grav well pretty useless skill now

Completely useless.

Can dodge the damage. The pull ends right before the burst. Watch the video again you see him do an all out sprint right before he makes it out the bubble. That’s the pull ending. You can dodge during this window as well.

You can dodge the Damage of GravWell in the Last 0.25s of its uptime.
You can pretty much just “walk” out of it, but allways get pulled into the middle of it on cast, you can even Chain it.

If even thats not enough, you could allways use a Stun inside the GravWell as they cant iFrame or you could even use Maelstrom to keep them pulled in.

Yeah cause everyone is just standing still for this to work, right? Correct me if im wrong but wouldn’t swapping weapons to stun before the burst stop the grav well perk from going off?

I guess the Perk wont go off when Swapping??? I don’t know.
Standing still in what regard? Before or during the GravWell? I guess in both cases they wouldn’t?
But then, what Scenario are we talking about?
Have you already used Maelstrom?
Are you alone or do other Teammates that have Stuns ready?

You can also just walk out of ice shower after the short root is over, it’s still a really good ability that kills tons of people. I actually don’t think gravity well is as bad as people are thinking. Maybe the slow can be bumped up a bit, but being locked from dodging is huge.
