AGS nerfed VG’s Scream which was very overtuned and destroyed people in wars since it had a low uptime and relatively easy cast. You can simply scream into clumps and those clumps would die from follow up especially in war situations.
Except you guys replaced it by buffing Gravity Well’s with a one second root, which is arguably an even better ability than Scream since it can be casted from a distance. And it has a lower CD…
Since the new patch, OPRs are all about stacking as many Grav Wells as possible, and mages casting Pillar of Fire and Ice Wall. Been seeing a ton of people in Camelot running IG/GA now which is all about CCing clumps.
You guys overtuned the hell out of Grav Well because of the loud minority that argued against the nerfs. Granted, the nerfs to Grav Well were a bit too much, but adding Root to it is completely unnecessary. This ability is already the most used ability in War and OPR - why does it need such a big buff? People caught in it either need to Ice Tomb or Riposte, there’s no other counter to it…
I think that the irony here is that the nerf was too much, this buff is too much, and that it’s original state is literally in the middle of both of these.
In my opinion, it was never a problem with the skill, but the fact that you would get hit with like 3 or 4 of them followed by hammer cc all chained up with no diminishing returns for cc. So you would just be stuck
what GA users wanted was lunge / bloodlust / reap back, that way we wouldnt have to contribute to this cancerous root meta that AGS is forcing down everyone throat.
if the GA could chase targets, and hit targets, it wouldnt need a root.
