Since the alpha version, the great axe, continues jumping 10m with a single left click and this, added to the aim assist, the pvp against any ranged class is limited to left click spam, since it travels more distance than a roll of light armor ā¦
Yeah thatās just not acceptable, one of the few reasons I give up on this game for now.
@Kernel Thanks for providing this information to us. I have added this feedback to the tracker so the team can review it.
If you wish to share any other issues you have been dealing with that the team is still not aware of, please do as it assists us in making sure the team has all the information necessary for New World to be a great experience for every single player in our community.
Youi realize this was posted many times during the beta right? This is not new. This is how OP the greatax is and has been and it is still getting buffs while the rest is getting nerfs.
Here is another video I made today with a friend: GA Lunge Distance - YouTube
6-7 body lengths the GA can lunge. SIX TO SEVEN!
No other weapon can do this.
What a joke lmao. How has this not already been nerfed.
Iām honestly amazed that they chose to give the weapon with such high damage and a natural pull to heavy armor this ludicrous lunge. Conversely, the two weapons that ought to have this kind of lunge, Rapier and Spear, have no lunge tracking and are geared towards single target playstyle.
The Great Axe has no need for this ludicrous lunge distance as it already benefits from a wide cleave. And the abysmal range of Rapier and Spear allows for players to easily outspace these weapons that should have an advantage on single targets.
Simply remove lunge from cleaving weapons and give them to single target weapons. This makes the most sense as single target weapons need to overcome cleaving weapons ability to hit multiple opponents.
thanks
Here, MORE info:
This shows the great axe teleporting, lunging 7 feet, if you dodge going over 10. This is just ridiculous. And fighting a fire and ice user who is about to get nerfed into the ground. A skilled on too. God I really hope you all start listening to the community.
I know you have the best intentions but no offense, you keep saying you are listening, but the upcoming PTR changes say otherwise.
@ohyeahhh Thanks so much for providing this. I have reported it to the team for review.
We appreciate your efforts in assisting us! If you find any more bugs or have further feedback, please be sure to report them as I assure you all this information will reach the team for further review.
@tr1age I do understand your frustration towards this specific issue. It could have been posted during the beta, I am not disregarding that.
Our team is doing their best to fix each and every issue that is encountered in New World. Some issues have priority over others. What I suggested was if you need to share anything else that you have been dealing with that the team might not be aware of, it would be a great assist for us.
We do not need to hear that this issue is not new or that the GA is OP, or still receiving buffs. We are here to assist in sorting out these issues as quickly as possible to get weapons more balanced and to get the team the information they need to do so.
Thank you
@Aecusim I really do like where you are going with this. I believe the Rapier & Spear should be buffed and the I have reported some feedback from other threads concerning this. The team is trying to find the right balance for the weapons. Obviously, we want all our community members to enjoy New Worldās combat experience and obviously take a liking to all weapons.
We assure you that the team is reviewing all that is sent to them via our detailed reports and we are active in forums to make sure our players are heard.
I honestly donāt even think you need to nerf Great Axe, so please do not put words in my mouth.
But I am using it as an example as the most powerful āeasy to useā weapon in the game compared to the weapons that you are currently nerfing.
Even though, feedback on the PTR is very much against the move on Mages. It is just crappy.
Was trying to show you from the perspective of someone who plays both that, we understand what is working and isnāt and the sweeping over the top changes are not the proper way to address things, but incremental fixes and adjustments to get it right would be better.
This video was exactly what you asked for: MORE INFORMATION as to why these weapons are not as OP and in need of nerfs as they have been given, but more it is players not understanding them and perhaps as a game developer working on explaining how these work more via new player tutorials and general experience to the game mechanics better along the way.
Just hope you all listen. We have seen from many situations you all scream the sky is falling, waiting too long, then doing a sweeping change that breaks more things⦠instead of assessing if the sky is actually falls and then creating protection from the sky or not, based on an educated assessment. Proof in point: The turning off of trading and money transfer breaking towns and companies being able to then dupe. Knee jerk reactions hurt us all more. Taking servers down for a proper assessment might have given your players more faith in you. Then again maybe not, gamers are weird and if they canāt get their fix they might leave. Then again they may also leave if the game keeps breaking itself.
I can apply the same here to the mage class and weapons. There were SWEEPING changes on PTR. Not just small adjustments and incremental adjustments. So now we will never really know what it would be like to balance, instead of nerf to the dirt.
We all know how will you āreviewā it, AHAHJAHAH. You will buff gaxe/hammer more and you will nerf ranged.
^ This is the trust you have garnered from your audience due to your reactions and āresolveā. So I am sorry if you thought my post was invasive, but you have to understand, Amazonās entire response to the launch so far has been exactly the same.
Gonna take time for us to trust you all as developers at this point. Sure you are making some good changes but as we have seen for each change there is the chance for more and more issues. So credit where credit is due, but not going to bend the knee because you finally decided to make posts of āroadmapsā that are supposed to be āin testingā but then turn out to be the actual patches. (your words not ours).
If i am wrong, I am happy to be so. But until we see actual actions that prove this game truly does have the bones to support a balanced and fun experience, we are ALL skeptical.
