I’m tired of people saying “gs is op best ranger weapon!” when I watch musket players solo q and drop 30 kills every other opr you can watch dex run directly to spawn and start taking 1vx’s the Greatsword can’t do that. the truth is good musket and bow players literally only die when they feel like it . It’s also insane how the hatchet has remained completely untouched and is the biggest crutch in the entire game the hatchet Breaks pvp AND pvm with defy death you can pretty much fall asleep and left click yet it’s completely untouched and accepted by the community . Healers are tanking 5-10 players at once to the face still but that’s completely OK . Medium great axe hammer guys still own the entire game with one single pocket healer and that’s completely OK. Builderbus still one shots people nobody cares ! But the moment I take a dex players 15 stacks in opr “the Greatsword needs to be stopped it’s brainless anybody could pick it up and be a god”
Greatsword is OP though. Nobody is saying there aren‘t any other overtuned weapons, but the Greatsword is way too strong and way too easy to use.
Go pick up a musket and tell me how easy it is to left click people with hitscan who have no healer I’ve played every class in the game gs is strong but it isn’t op at all by any means
You’re right bro I should play a more skill capped build like sword shield hatchet so I can never die musket so I can sit on a rock and never die or blunderbuss hammer so I can one shot people there are plenty of weapons in this game that are easy to use and overpowered besides the Greatsword
If you look at my past posts I played musket and complained about assassin builds and it gained alot of traction. I wish I never made that post. Musket is the most unbalanced weapon in this game currently but there are plenty more so it’s crazy to me that people really just won’t take the time to figure out how to play against the gs
Greatsword is currently the only weapon in opr not even war. That brings balance to the game without heavily affecting wars
So you‘re basically saying »Other weapons are OP, so it‘s fine that Greatsword is OP too«

I recently started to use melee weapons. By my 5th OPR, I went 20-3 with the greatsword. I play solo with no heals.
Healers are the easiest class for me to kill as a neophyte melee dps. I have 2 mobility abilities (relentless rush with either leap or fletch). When they fletch, I counter fletch or leap. They cannot escape. If they do, it’s my fault. A purple 625 GS damage per second is higher than their heals. The rapier’s flourish is also surprising good pushing them out of their sacred ground.
They probably should buff all the melee weapons up to 5 to 6 meter tracking like the GS. It’s not very competitive and it’s unfair in a lot of ways, but it’s fun.
Story time bud lemme tell you a story:
Little Timmy goes into opr with his musket . He runs straight to the opposite teams spawn and finds little jimmy who happens to be an ice void medium user
Little Timmy destroys little jimmy without taking a single hit! Little jimmy thinks to himself when he dies “wow that musket is so op!” Little jimmy didn’t realize that his build was just not meant to charge directly at little Timmy in an open field
A day goes by and the Greatsword comes out!
Little billy now is trying out the Greatsword and decides to join an opr which Timmy has been dominating in all day! Absolutely nobody can touch little Timmy! … until billy came along… billy finds Timmy and kills him! timmy then says to himself when he dies “wow that Greatsword is op!”
Do you see what I’m getting at ?
If you use the GS then use other melee weapons it is apparent the GS is better. The time to kill and tracking are the most obvious differences between the GS and other melee weapons.
I say just buff all the melee weapons to the GS level. The SnS is basically at the level of the GS. The spear actually has farther tracking than the GS. Maybe it needs faster attack speeds? Probably only need to buff the GA, hatchet, and rapier tracking.
