Griefing or competitive play - what is your opinion?

And I’m fairly certain it DOES happen. Just go chase behind someone in a place with many mobs. Eventually, some mobs will switch agro to the closest target(you). Doesn’t always happen instantly tho. Perhaps there is a timer where mobs give up on certain targets.

I’m going to go with griefing…

But I have countered it by not attacking the mobs and waiting until the greifer runs up and then the mobs attack him, then I back off wait for the mobs to run him off and then profit.

Tell me about it… I’m always looking all around for anyone agroing mobs. The moment I see them agro mobs, I just run away cuz I know what’s coming.

This is Griefing, by definition. It is wrong. But since it’s the way agro was implemented in this game, it is just a use of mechanics. Broken mechanics. Objectively.

And people need to understand that just because it’s allowed doesn’t mean it’s right to do. Just like I don’t agree with the banning of people for what they say. It’s their rules and I think it’s wrong too.

Ohno, caps, you must be right… further testing required to know 100% but I’ll take your’ word for it I suppose.

Hey, hey don’t breakdown on me! Chill out and analyze what I’m saying. Go test it yourself. No need to be so snarky.

Yes! I did it to somebody trying to draw wolves to me to make it easy to skin.

Didn’t see the player standing off to the side and he got attacked.

I felt so bad afterward. At least he didn’t die.

Bruh… I have Destroyed 2 Myrk Zergs accidentally already cuz I run around alone and the boss/mobs behind me switches targets. Last time, people were furious! I had to apologize and ress them lol

LOL! Awkward!

I don’t feel so bad now.

I would just db you in the back while you farm but this isn’t rust

This is not at all close to training in EQ. When you train someone in EQ you have to actually have someway to drop the aggro onto someone (fade, zone, die). Aggro in New World is just simply broken. There is no reason why gathering proximity aggro should ever put someone higher on the mobs hate list than that mob actually getting pulled by someone.

This isn’t the only way aggro is broken. I can’t count the number of times someone near me has run up and punched a mob in the face and that mob turned and ran at me simply because I had a life staff out.

While it may read like a “you can’t tell me to go to bed”, it is not. If you were reading between the lines you would realize…

I don’t need to get used to your fantasy, because the successful MMOs by-and-large do not have stupid mechanics like mob-training incorporated into them. You simply do not know what it is you are talking about, when you make the kind of assertions you make.

The successful ones do not facilitate even the potential for player griefing. Some go as far as to put systems in game to prevent it. So there is nothing to get used to here, because the successful MMOs simply do not pull stunts like this one does. Hence the fact I do not need to get used to it.

This game will course-correct from this “force engagement” philosophy. It has already come so far. Mark my words.

So… in summation.

Learn to read.

You’re reading too far into what i said…

Were not breaking things down into specifics…

Nice try though. :+1:

Trains. Trains happen in most games.

You like to take certain things people say out of context? Grow up.

I also stated that the aggro mechanics need changed in some manner so this isnt an issue.

Bit its clear you are just here to argue…

Have fun with that by yourself… Ill have nothing to do with it. :joy::+1::v:

You still ranting in attempt to rile someone up and argue?

Grow up… No one told you to do anything.

You gotta stop acting like a child, its embarrassing… All you wannabe trolls. :joy:

If a player does this, they should be instantly flagged for PvP.

That’ll eliminate it from the game 100%.
