Yeah these issues started for me 2 patches ago primarily when entering the valley of bone in Morningdale. After the last patch I now get this same issue in many zones.
Sad part is, that there’s nothing about this issue in PTR patch notes. Maybe they don’t know how to fix it, or just don’t care (wouldn’t surprise me).
I came here looking for a solution for washed out ground textures. It happens to me everywhere. in sand in CK, the ground in EG virtually anywhere. One thing I’ve noticed, I can get them to load if I pan to a top-down view they will load slowly. Running a 6800XT 32GB of memory.
Came here to make sure it wasn’t just me, lol.
I am having same issue. Also, like the poster above me, seem to be able to ‘kick start’ stuck textures by moving camera to top down. 6700xt, 16GB, R5 5600X
Is there any world on a fix for this? Currently I can’t go more than 10 minutes in the game without all the ground textures going out, and it’s pretty frustrating. I’ve got a 3080 RTX, so extra not happy about it (and from what I’ve read, seems to be affecting the better systems).
Gonna toss in some more examples to keep this thread up:
Distant objects not rendering correctly:
US West, Camelot:
PTR for comparison:
Also noticing about 15-20 more fps on PTR, looks to be reflected in the FPS meter in screenshots as well.
Terrible ground textures, Live and PTR:
Missing NPCs (Camelot)
Specs:
Ryzen 5 5600X
16GB 3200MHz RAM
12GB RX 6700XT
gen4 m.2 SSD
Win10 21H1
Settings:
Mix of High/V. High.
No Vsync.
Apative Res: tested, but generally no
AMD Settings:
Sharpening 80%
Anti-Lag
Surface Format Optimiaztion
Tested with all disabled.
Something is wrong with this game build, this blurry/missing texture bugs started happening after Arena update. Before was working fine.
Hey John, just wanted to let you know that this Fixed the following issues I was having:
-Ground and water randomly not loading in and being completely transparent.
-EXTREMELY long load times when recalling/fast traveling (I have a 10900k, 2080 super, SSD)
Thank you so much for this!
Same issue is happening to me still happening to me. If I pan the camera overhead looking straight down the textures eventually load. Here is the weird thing. I just recently came back to the game from launch month last year. I had a character on Yggradsil. My friend picked up the game and started on El Dorado so I joined him there. If I go onto my original character on Yggradsil the blurry ground texture issue doesn’t happen. If I log onto my new character on El Dorado it does. Both are USA west coast. I’ll add that I also did the editing file DPI trick in properties and that seemed to help a little but not completely.
@john It tried the fix. These files are not present when running your fix.
TexturesLowMips.pak
VegetationStrm-part4.pak
VegetationStrm-part5.pak
Gems (folder)
Same issue here. I tried the fix John_Smith posted but it didn’t work. There were a a few missing folders in assets that others mentioned. Here are some screen shots I took along the border of First Light and Windsward, but I can find this bug just about anywhere.
X-posting from another thread from yesterday: I’m having this issue as well after returning today. It’s a fresh install on a fresh OS. I’ve had issues with NPCs becoming invisible, as well as ground textures, disappearing. The ground textures sometimes, slowly, creep back in, but usually, they disappear again.
I’ve already re-validated my files in Steam and followed some instructions provided in this post by John_Smith.
Specs:
- Windows 11 Pro
- EVGA Nvidia RTX 3080 10GB GDDR6X
- Intel Core i7-11700K Rocket Lake 3.2GHz
- 32GB DRDR4 RAM
- ASUS Z590-A ROG LEGA 1200 ATX
- Samsung 980 Pro SSD 1TB M.2
Also experiencing this problem now after i upgraded from 980ti to a 3070ti.
- its a lot of textures appear to not be loading in and therefore blurry
- changing settings does nothing to it.
- reinstalling or restarting does nothing to it.
I’ve just installed the game after not playing for months and now the ground textures aren’t loading. It looks really bad =(
My config is the same that I used before for playing New World and I haven’t touched the settings either.
Specs:
- Windows 10 Pro

- AMD Ryzen 9 5900x

Same Issue here, have a 3070 ti ssd drive windows 11, started on last patch for me. Also gotten the apocalyptic no vegetation bug since May. I think this maybe the last straw for me too.
This same issue happened to me yesterday and again today…I’m running a 2070 super on Win 11 with tons of 32g of ram.
