My steam and new world account was hacked 3 hours ago. Everything was taken out of my account. From coins, trophies, armor, weapons, materials. All on 2 different characters. On an account with over 4k hours. From bis weapons that were bound to player, to bis armor that was bound to player.
I just finished talking to ags customer support and i’m straight up told that they can’t do anything about it?
How is “unfortunately we can’t do anything about a compromised and hacked account” a valid response?
I’m terribly sorry about the issue you’re facing, I know this is a frustrating issue the one you’re in, sadly a compromised account is something that goes out of our reach, mostly because security related concerns are bound to Steam as you can see on this article:
We as support cannot restore in-game content missing as a result of an account hack, and trust me, it is frustrating for us too since all we want is to help you on this situation, but sadly we don’t have any possibility to take any action.
I totally understand and support you on this since I know that you’ve lost many hours and all I can advice you at this moment is to update all your passwords, as I’m sure you did already.

It blows my mind how a company with a cloud service like amazon doesnt have the ability to look at logs.
Its sad by my part to even say this, but content creating for new world (obviously for my benefit, as well as yours, somewhat) and doing the last 2 events, this is the response I myself and others get. “We can’t do anything about it”.
If support can’t do anything, why would you come on forum and ask if Community Manager who got 0 power and don’t even play the game if they can help you ? Comon…
It’s rude and brutal, but your STEAM account beein hacked, is 100% YOUR FAULT only, ags or anyone else is not involved in this.
Litle tips for ya : don’t use “password” as password , and use 2nd verify login account with smartphone.
The problem with this game. Players who have no empathy. If you have no support to give why not just keep your opinion to yourself in a situation like this?
So they just discarded your BoP items?!? Has to be someone you know, like I get if it was a random who just took the gold/mats/any BoE of value, but to straight up discard all your BoP feels like it is a personal attack.
I have been streaming NW since release and its amazing the amount of people that pop in and try to “personally attack” me. I’ve gotten used to it, and attribute it to something that comes with the hobby. This hacking non sense is on a complete new level. You could be right, and it could be another personal attack but taken to a whole new level.
The response from AGS just makes the situation more defeating.
took a lot of time but my friend went threw a similar situation they took all his stuff, money, trophy’s even server transferred him, took them like a month if not more but he did get his stuff and char back. I would keep making tickets live in game and threw the ags team, as said took a while but hope you find same light at end of tunnel.
If you see any unusual login activity that means your Steam Account is compromised, and you need to change password and logout all devices.
It is your responsibility to make sure to secure your Steam Account details and password, and not share it with anyone. This is in the Steam Terms of Service (ToS).
If you did not find any unusual login activity on Steam, that means your, and everyone else, New World users account information was stolen directly from AGS servers, that would make AGS responsible to notify ALL players by LAW that their systems where hacked. Or there could be an exploit to login with someone elses character.
They do, but how could you possibly prove who did what? What if they traded items? Would you reverse those trades? What if they traded those items to other people?
