I don’t think it’s intended for a fresh level 60. Edengrove and Shattered Mountain are the zones the game sends you to first.
I’m in purple 590ish gear since I didn’t want to try to level greatsword as a mage and am doing okay. But I have the expertise to use that gear and a fresh 60 won’t.
Targetted consumable use is really key. Health/regen pots alone aren’t sufficient. The soulfire dot, for example, is nature damage, while the sulfer pools mobs do fire damage. It is annoying to need to keep swapping out consumables.
I know that the archers in that azoth beams quest can be really hard. I died a bit but found I could take them on in light armor, about 110 CON 350 or so DEX using rapier and flurry. I can take an archer down in about 3 to 4 seconds without any coatings or such. Corrupted Bane rapier. All about doing really fast damage on them. The guys with armor and shield are harder for this build, so I roll around a lot and kill the archers as quickly as I can. I use Berserk to give me some healing and invulnerability as well. It can be done. But it was very tricky solo. But that is the fun for me!
In this game, people have now forgotten the existence of heavy armor. Perhaps this will encourage many to use it, at least in pve. In pvp now the heavy armor has become something useless.
625 doesnt matter, this isn’t a mutator where GS matters a lot more (albiet i hate how artificial the difficulty feels in high level mutators when you dont have the required GS)
Some of the POI’s in brimstone are myrkgard difficulty, my company went and took 10 people to a full chest run of the zone to get scarabs and stuff tonight. it went fine except for in Castrum Principium where mobs were just spawning way too fast. difficulty was fine though, and overall we had deaths, but we didnt wipe or anything
it’s meant to be an endgame zone tho, party up, meet some people!
I thought main story quest was pretty easy though? ive only had maybe 2-3 side quests where i totally couldnt do it alone i think, but honestly the zone being difficult makes it fun in a way, meet someone or find a guild/group
Lets remember to stay kind to each other guys! Just because one person’s experience isn’t similar to yours does it mean we need to get nasty.
As for Brimstone Sands, it was meant to be a challenge for something that players can work towards. We’re keeping a close eye on progression to guage how certain things are playing out but at this time we encourage you to either group up or come at the challenge a different angle.
I ran solo, though all the MSQ and side quests in heavy voidbent, 250str, 190con, and 53dex. No wards or anything. Before anyone says “You’re in heavy.” Yes I am but I also dont receive a 10% damage buff or 20% for light armor users. Its not hard if you play smart about it. Work smarter, not harder applies to video games too. I died a decent amount of times but I picked myself up, not literally, I had to rely on rando’s for that, and carried on.
Dying is just part of the learning process. I’d be disappointed if I didn’t die! I went into the new elite zone with a healer thinking it would be similar to Myrkgard - big mistake. Those mobs are brutal and never-ending. I think the respawns on them are a bit fast. I was in a world tour group and the boss at the end kept respawning every minute.
I solo’d the whole MSQ as well as all the side quests in 613 Light armour with spear and a not maxed level greatsword.
Yea I died once here or there. But the quests wouldnt be fun if they werent difficult in some regard.
I personally prefer that Brimstone is on the harder sude otherwise everythings just too easy. Look at Shattered. Once your 625 even some of the smaller elites are easy to kill.
Because maybe some people who are not 60 yet would like to try and get rewarded? What kind of question is this dude and what does that got to do with what I said?
You’re not fine man. Also Musket is not a PvE weapon so that a first red flag showing you have no idea how to play.
Footage please. I simply don’t believe you. It all sounds like a git gud issue to me rather than anything being overtuned. My experience was completely different.
I did not say any of these things. All I am saying is that you’re just bad buddy-boy. I solo’d the main story in 622 pvp gear and died maybe 4 times. Half of that was to other players because I did it all flagged and with FS/Rapier which nowadays is nowhere near OP, especially in PvE. So cut the crap and show us some footage.
You think that I haven’t seen other people fight mobs thorought my playthrough? Who’s dense now? Again for good measure:
you are either bad or lying to get attention therefore until you provide some footage to let us identify what the issue actually is all you say is QQ and jibber jabber. Enjoy your bubbles
If anything it’s too easy. If you are having issues then try changing your armor/build/weapons and trying it. Even the Elite zones can be soloed easily.
I did the whole zone in heavy armor and have no troubles, I’ve known many people who did it in light armor and have 0 issues.
The level of difficulty in brimstone sands is perfect atm - neither mind numbingly easy nor frustratingly difficult.
Unless you’re in a group you can’t just steam roll in and start left clicking. Actually have to engage more intelligently and play the mechanics which is far more enjoyable.
At first I was getting my ass handed to me also and I had to readjust somethings.
I wasn’t really wearing proper straight PVE gear. So i went back… I crafted chitin armor. Now I can farm around the pools with ease and other players who never crafted the armor just leech off me.
I went to the market and got a full refreshing ward + attribute gear and elem aversion nothing too expensive.
When solo PVE as in most games…sustain is the key. So for this game that means lifestealing and leeching perks = never die in pve.
Brimstone is not the place to level up your GS. You should die if you are running around with your GS.
Im having no trouble soloing all of brimstone multiple poi’s I literally tank up to 6 mobs with ease.
I think this might be where you are missing the point. The zone is not for fresh 60s or anyone below GS600. The devs added XP to the quests because some people might want to challenge themselves or just go in to see the new content, but it’s an end-game expansion tuned for players that have already reached a certain threshold (GS600).
Fresh 60s realistically shouldn’t even be thinking about Brimstone until they have increased their expertise to at least 600 and gone through all the other zones properly. The mobs in Brim are basically Shattered Mountain mobs on steroids (especially from 64 upwards) so a fresh 60 shouldn’t even bother. The same fresh 60 would probably melt in SM too. They should go to Brim when they can comfortably solo roam SM.
Early in the game’s life the grey maps were no-go areas, and you would get destroyed if you tried to solo them, but now most players can farm there without dying once. It’s the same for this new zone. In a few weeks when we’re all stacked with runeglass gems the mobs will probably feel a lot easier.
