Half players in 2 weeks?

mmos normally loose 90% of their playerbase within 1 month, its been 3 weeks and new world only went down 50%, so they are doing 40% better then most mmos. Wont matter because we will still loose 90% of player base within 1-3 months

GW2 is alive and well, for a variety of reasons, and after having explored all the areas in New World, I fear I will return to GW2 for the time being, although I really love the looks of NW, I love the more realistic approach to armour and combat, to not constantly be blinded by all the ‘bling’ so common in most successful titles.

I’d probably be waiting for the releases in 2022, one looks especially promising to me, but this is not normal for me, usually when I start playing a game I grow very loyal to it and continue playing it, not easily drawn by just the next hype. Really thought NW would be my new home for quite a while, but I struggle to find motivation to log in, reason I am on the forums, because I feel sad and would wish for this game to succeed, but it just feels like a rather sick puppy right now, with the vet scratching the head, unsure how to save the poor creature.

Man this is today, peak is 600K and not 400K
Besides that BDO is alive with 60K so can NW to lives with ten times more players? Yes it can

I get it man, as someone who has invested 150 hours into NW and only 45, I really do enjoy the game but the lack of story, same quest over and over does wear on you. I will continue to play and believe NW will only improve but they have a shit ton of issues to get rid of and figure out before they can or should release new content. So will probably start lowing my hours and slowly grind to 60 over next few weeks or month. Good Luck to you.

Im pretty sure these people have steamDB up and just wait for numbers to dip to a point they can screenshot and post the doom and gloom.

Kat Williams: Live your damn life and get your hustle on and understand that people are going to hate regardless of what you do…

You got to be grateful, you need haters. What the fuck are you complaining about??? What the fuck do you think a haters job is???

BDO doesn’t have 600 servers. There are 600k players spread across 600 servers. A lot of servers have 400 people peaks, leaving the entire map feeling like a ghost land. They don’t have time to sort out merges because they are exclusively focusing on servers transfers and bugs… but apparently they still can’t even fix the MSQ tea bagging NPC… because that is such a hard bug to squash… lol

Yeah people talk up all the other MMO’s as being the largest, but seem to forget about GW2 MASSIVE numbers. Concurrent players on that game are insane so far after release… sadly, a lot of them are indeed bots. As I run around doing quests, I can purposely die and watch them all run to me as they are programmed to do, then the ones that don’t reach me instantly turn around the moment you get rezzed. The life of a free base game.

I agree with you that population is split up on servers where some are incredibly low and some high and some have 1k people and are locked. So yes total count can be a little deceiveing pending on what side your on. I don’t think server transfer’s will help because there’s to many servers. Wednesday will kill a lot servers, and make some full to high but will mess with faction balance. Its gonna be a shit show

Weird, can’t say I have ever seen a bot as such, and no gold spammers in chat, but maybe I am simply oblivious. WvW is teaming as well, evening and weekend queues.

Issue from a pve standpoint is also that we can only have one character, although the way NW functions, it feels useless to have alts, who’d want to level through this content over and over… and you can learn all weapons anyway, but considering the very lacking customisation, even in this aspect NW falls very short.

With scaling i would think it would be hard to bot in gw2 since any mob can kill you and you cant necessarily smash your head on the keyboard and win.

My wife and I observed it a couple of times. There were tonnes of people around and we were ecstatic about it. We were chasing them for awhile trying to strike up a conversation, but each and every person ignored us, for hours. That’s when we had her jump off buildings over and over and over again and the same behaviour persisted. They would stop killing mobs and instantly turn to her to rez her. She would get rezzed, then the ones that didn’t make it in time, would go back to their killing. rinced and repeated many times to confirm :stuck_out_tongue:

Eh, most people expect to see year 8 ffxiv, year 16 wow level of content day 1.

At a casual pace, you may cap all crafts/gathering/refining in like 3 months. If you focus on it.

A lot hit 60 in first two weeks, but don’t like crafting/gathering/refining. So they label it as “I beat the game nothing to do,” when they have done 1/10th.

Mmos are time sinks. But peak weekend play times are still really busy, and many are waiting til server transfer comes out.

You are ABSOLUTELY 110% correct, I was pulling the numbers from a website mmo population, and I copied the wrong ones! LOL.

I will happily admit this mistake, and I stand 100% corrected. Destius is absolutely right.

ESO hits around 360k daily players on average.

New World is still currently higher (admittedly not for much longer.), so I wasnt exactly wrong… just off a bit. lol

Unlike forum trolls or hate baiters… Im happy to admit when Im wrong.

AGS killed their game out of the gate with no PVP servers. It’s not too late!

This post is full of madness. Just like the steamer who was rushing to 60 as fast as possible to “prove” there was a no content.

The content is along the way. It’s all about crafting skills. Every time I see a 60 running around I laugh at them because I know they have next to nothing in crafting and gathering skills.

I’ve played this game nearly full time since release and I’m at level 46 because I have been taking my time to grind up all my crafting skills. 200 skinning, 170 mine/harvest. I think around 130 logging. Craft skills range from ~90 to 140. When you see resources around you that you can’t gather, it time to take a time out from the levelling grind and focus on gathering crafting so you’re not missing everything you pass.

If you can’t make armor and weapons above the gear level that you’re finding along the way you already screwed up and missed the whole point of the game. This is a crafting game. When you get to the level 60+ areas you need to be able to gather and craft with the resources in the area or you are a total fail. I smile to myself every time I see a 60 run by while I’m picking silk knowing the they can’t even get it. I’ll be pulling wireweave and orchlirium (sp.) in a couple days.

If you’re complaining that it takes to long, or you don’t have enough time, you’ve also missed the point. For god sakes what is the point of this rush to 60 race? There will always be someone putting in more time. Why worry about it? You get there when you get there. If that’s not acceptable because you have to be the fastest and highest, then either make more time or quit.

OP doesnt seem to know this is a normal thing lol

Well I expected more exodus due to the laughable state of PvP wars, and steady decline due to the dev’s silence on gross PvP lag-inducement/exploitation and outright invincibility cheating.

Why would you even care if the game is played by 1 million people at the same time, 400k or even 100k when you are playing on a server with a maximum of about 2k players online???

Also complaining about a game being released while incomplete is kinda cringe. Look at all the games that came up lately. Especially the online ones but even some single player games. It’s just the way it is now.

You people keep forgetting that until 12 months ago this was supposed a survival sandbox game, not an MMO at all. All the mmo elements were added in the last year or so.

I honestly see a lot of mmo content for a 12 months development and way more than any other games.

Also it’s an mmo, it will constantly get new updates and new content until people will start to ask for “vanilla New World” because it was better, because that’s how people are.

Look at Guild wars 2 now and compare it to launch, 2 totally different games.

Bottom line this game has a lot of flaws, but the playerbase ain’t one of them boys.

Enjoy it for the moment before they add an expansion that you won’t like.
Quit it if you don’t like it, easy as that.

That is a pretty brash assumption that level 60 players can not gather what you can. Did you ever think they don’t care to? I am level 60 with 200 mining, skinning, smelting, gathering and everything thing else over 140. Elite farming beats out early crafting until you get legendary equipment schematics which need to be farmed.

But anyway the game is a blast no matter how many people shite on it. I find many things to do from farming elites to helping people run through a dungeon they are trying to complete since grouping up is seemingly more difficult for lower tier dungeons. I have sunk over 220 hours into the game and will continue to do so since the real endgame content will eventually function as intended.

The game as a whole is quite fun ( a bit of a drag around mid 40’s) but push through that and it gets much better. I think people do tend to forget that there are many things to do but also may find chopping wood for hours on end to be tedious. Many people have different preference and this game does not cater to them all and that needs to be understood. I do hope people that enjoy the game realize that in today’s time people like to complain about anything and everything.

I am however tired of hearing about games that have had years of polishing and game making experience be compared to New World as they are not comparable especially since Amazon attempted to cater to the PVE crowd a wee bit late but considering this the Dungeons Dynasty, Genesis and Lazarus are actually really done well. Also remember nostalgia is always a reason to go back to older MMO and don’t hold up as well for a new player.
