I asked for a no-loot version of this as a Fresh Start world (link) and it got flamed into oblivion by PvEers. I was going to ask for full loot because that’s what I would prefer, but obviously, I was correct in not doing so. The PvEers in this game labor under the assumption that no one is interested in PvP. That it would divide the player-base, instead of bringing new players in. It was even suggested that PvPers wouldn’t be monetarily beneficial to AGS because they do not like to customize their appearance.
I wholeheartedly agree with OP. I hope AGS comes to their senses. I will definitely return for a PvP server and personally know several others who would as well. We PvPers were all over alpha and helped bring this game into life and were immediately, for the most part, abandoned on launch.
As a side note, I think it would be more reasonable to ask for full-loot, even armor and weapons. This is because there needs to be a risk for an attacker attacking a farmer. Without the risk of the attacker losing something, farmers will get targeted more than they normally would. I know some PvEer here will be like, “Who wants to farm on a PvP server anyway.” To answer personally, I enjoy farming under threat, watching my back, planning my escape, and even sometimes having friends help get the mats we need. So, shoo, bitter PvEer. There are plenty of us.
I also would like to add, of course any current petitions for a PvP server would be low on signatures. New World contains a majority of PvE-only players by design, and thus are the main audience for petitions related to the game.
A lot of my survival gaming community friends would only play if hardcore so you are missing a massive player base of new people who will come and play
The problem with this is that they would be dead servers, If you had a PVP server in each region then you would get at most 200 players on each server. How will companies earn income or upgrade territories? There would be nothing on the trade posts, very little crafting etc… the servers would be a waste of everyone’s time and resources.
Why would AGS open and keep PVP servers running for so few people? 99% of the player base prefers the PVX we have. If you want to PVP then flag up, if not then don’t flag.
If you wish to farm resources during peak times then go to a low-pop server, otherwise farm during off-peak hours. Most resources respawn so quick now that there is no need to fight over resource nodes anymore.
We have 2 Australian servers mate and bots are everywhere. Also have it as a global pvp server. And regions will still get
Upgraded u sound like one of those guys that never flag up and ks resources
It’s your toxicity we want to be separated from. Some of us like hardcore and want to play on our own server is there anything wrong with that u can stay on ur pve my little pony server mate while we play the way we like to play all in
Not with this meta, without balance, you would see only muskets wandering around. No point atm. You can say you would be a bruiser or a mage, but when u have to walk outside alone with no ppl to party up you would be received with muskets sitting 100m on top of hills with uncontested dmg, until you get pissed and do the same build and then you have a server full pvp hardcore but muskets only( cause they will outrange any bows). Brought a healer? Other musket bois is on a party with another 4 muskets syncronizing no bullet drop point click shots with attunement enchanted.
Now I understand you want the pvp server and will probably deny the fact I just stated, however, I will let you know that I am not against the idea, on the contrary, I encourage it. However, let’s agree. Atm you better off playing DayZ, cause pew pew. So they gotta balance it before any ideas.(Nevertheless, I do not see ags bringing HC pvp servers, u better off having someone modding it or whatever)
I understand what you are saying but a musket can’t kill a heavy in 1 hit. The meta for a PvP server would be a lot different as we ain’t gonna run same old content everyday
Pvp servers would be a nice thing. Before the pvp flagging mechanism came, you were always flagged for pvp.
And for those who didn’t want to pvp, they had an ability on the light staff called speed of light. With this, you could escape by rushing forward a longer distance. Firstly, this ability helped traversing the world a bit faster; secondly, it was kind of a natural pvp flagging system where you at least could interrupt the people farming ore and stuff. This brought a better competition for resources…
I agree with the “everything on you”, like EVE Online, but “all, all”?
… and nuke the place where you live. And the town where you were born. And all your relatives? Not gonna happen.
