Hey Fellas,
Disclaimer: I’m really sorry for my English skills. If I made some mistakes, I’m really sorry.
Q: Why did I spend so much time on this?
A: I love making statistics, maybe for someone that is not news, but I hope some of you enjoys :)))
So, I looted 500 Wirefiber nodes and I’ve got around 64 legendary drops with a range of 5-11 mat. per drop. I wasted on that around 10 hours. I was with full luck gear+food without Trophies with a total of 92.2% harvesting luck.
I think Wirefiber has a huge legendary drop rate if we compare it to boars or orichalcum veins or iron trees.
You need the same 1800 luck to get scale/blister as tolv/cinna but the wirefiber have 4 green items that also take 1800 vs 6 green items for orichalcum nodes. I dont know if they have an impact when rolling the loot table but that could be a possible reason why. I would suggest heading over to the nwdb discord since there are alot of ppl discussing this kind of information there.
He specifically stated in his message that it was without trophies. Or, maybe he edited that in after your message. In any case, his numbers align with my experience, too (but I have my trophies).
% based luck items do not add flat numbers to your roll.
They increase your static number based luck by said %.
So, if you have lvl200 harvesting, have eaten 2000 luck food and have 3 major trophies you will have 8.5k luck, your tool, pendant, armor and pvp buff then increase that 8.5k. So if you had a total of 70% extra luck on your armor, pendant, tool and pvp buff your 8.5k luck would become 14,450.
If you really had 92% luck you would be getting rare mats almost every single node.
I would suggest to repeat this without the amulet. But 9 hours of this isn’t fun. You can try 100 plants instead of 500. Would really love to know if amulet actually broken.
So you are saying that by that example my mining pick of 9.3% would increase all the luck I have from trophies, skill, food etc by 9.3% instead of giving me the datamined +927 luck roll? Or did I missunderstand your post
Yes exactly. How can 927 luck be 9.27% when the roll is out of 100k? It would obviously be 9270 for 9.27% which would mean the pvp bonus would add 30k to your roll which would be ridiculous (if they were adding static values)
No, not exactly the same, I didn’t do the precise calculations that you did, I just meant that I was getting a somewhat similar drop rate on Wirefiber using the NW-supplied Harvesting gear. The set they gave me was only GS500, so only 4.5% per piece, and my trophies are only minors. I also use the Herb crusted Corn on the Cob food. I’ve seen drop rates ranging from 7 -12 legendaries at a time. Last night I hit 9 Blisterweave followed immediately at the next bush by 12 Scalecloth. I don’t see results like that often (actually only once), but overall I get enough legendaries that I’m rolling in Phoenixweave (saving for post patch).
"They mentioned they never use percents in the drop system (since all luck is a flat value). A 1% in description equals to 100 raw value of luck (the description literally uses math (value / 100) to compute the final description. If you check any luck related perk on the database, you’ll see the raw values for them.
The gathering tables indeed have OR tables. For Void Ore specifically, you need to hit a 101800 on an AND table (same value as tolv/cinn, so at that roll you get pretty much everything), then hit a 100001 inside the second table (OR table, contains void ore and cobalt/crystal craft mods). All the thresholds for drops are already known from data mining, it was (guess I can say it still is) only a matter of interpreting the luck 100% correctly."
This is posted on nwdb and makes sense to me. For all we know the devs could have put % on gear because they thought adding 500 mining luck on gear would make people question how much that gave and hoped we would never ask why food gives flat value instead
