Hatchet berserk + defy death

I’d say it’s about 1.5 seconds. usually around the time you can attack after the animation you are vulnerable to damage.

I’m in medium armor there is no rolling away, and they can just roll if you roll and use feral rush and jump back on you.

Burn dots? that do a fraction of the dmg berserk health gives back?

fair enough. 2-3.5seconds

I’ve only seen someone die after they have procced defy death (if you just run away) is in a duel where they aren’t allowed to take potions and their berserk is on cooldown.

If they have berserk after it procs that’s another story. I mean honestly flamethrower is still enough to just dmg through the recovery tics and have them die instantly when defy deaths is over.

I used to be a rapier main, it’s 2 seconds at the most, if you are attacking you are vulnerable to damage. You can test this easily if you want.

medium armor mage without flamethrower. This whole chat is worthless. I even called you out earlier saying you were medium. What do you want to auto win against everything? You go medium mage if you want an advantage against other mages and ranged people, but at the same time you now allow melee to actually engage with you. Drawbacks to every build.

PS. Run Medium FS/Rapier and you will be able to dunk on the hatchet kids.

yeah you’re right but it’s not like they are just standing around, im 205 con medium armor and they can kill me within those 4 seconds especially if im just standing their with my di… flamethrower in my hand and I don’t like using flamethrower anyway I think it’s skill-less.

2 seconds max while you’re standing in that pose. 1.5 seconds for the animation after someone procs you.

I just don’t think the two are comparable. There is some time of invulnerability but it’s not like defy death.

Rapier is a giant crutch and it got stealth buffed in the tempest patch and nobody seemed to care.

You used to be abled to attack them when the animation was over and they put there rapier down. This allowed for some outplay against rapier users, now they are invulnerable even during their recovery animation. The entire weapon is broken.

Defy death and berserk is good against any class, it has damage and survivability. But yes my build is extra weak with it. And what’s it matter if I’m in medium armor?

But seriously, how many people save berserk for an “in case I die and come back with defy death I want to have berserk ready to go.” situation?

Maybe rapier shouldn’t be completely invulnerable during a reposte but it’s not completely broken and it’s really only good for a quick backstab or getting away.

If I use hatchet I usually like to time it out where I’ll have it in situations where I’m probably going to get killed / dangerous situations. It lasts a good amount of time too.

And if you don’t die you’re wasting the CD by never using it…and this makes sense?

Yeah I don’t think that people who main hatchet do that. If they do, it’s more like a happy opportunity and they didn’t purposely wait haha.

There are 3 very easy ways to deal with this:

  1. Stun the enemy until the immortality effect wears off, super easy. In fact, any slowdown or stun will make things much easier.

  2. Use a VG

  3. Purifying critic.

Until I swapped to a dex build recently I mained hatchet. I would never save berserk as a contingency plan for recovering from the death. Defy Death can flake out and not work as it is.
