Healers' beacon skill: mending protection vs revitalizing beacon

hello everyone and fellow healers in particular.

after reaching gold in mut 8 i decided to better define my setup and gear to stop wasting precious shards on not-BIS-pieces.

So i asked a skilled healer on my server (hi RoziTa if you’re reading this) to mentor me and i got suggested to use revitalizing beacon instead of mending protection.

I see there’s some perks malfunctioning or not working at all but in the end my doubt comes from the perk description…

following the perk description by the letter (and assuming it actually works as the description) revitalizing beacon should give a healing bonus only on heals i RECEIVE from all sources, so my own skills, potions or other players skills (rarely happens to me as i do pve only by now)… and should not affect healings i cast on other players

still i got suggested to use it…

what am i missing ? is mending protection not working at all? or revitalizing beacon works differently then what is said in the description?

is my mentor just wrong or not updated ? shall i tell him/her ?

your mentor is not updated to the meta .
mending protection works really well both for pve & pvp since it gave u fortify buff & less cooldown than beacon.
well since the game meta changed for healer nowadays , as healer you need to provide healing and mobility, so yeah i prefer mending protection as meta for now.
