Healers in other games

healers should be hard to kill ! every other mmorpg the healers are strong for good reason, they do very little damage and once spotted are focused by the enemy. most other game like wow and archeage are 2 good examples, where you need like 2 or 3 really good players in VC or 4 to 5 randoms to drop a healer. buff healers pls

I believe healers are in a decent spot in OPR. Wars I can’t say for certain because I haven’t done any recently. But arenas they’re in a shit place. If you play poorly, your team is bursted early. If you play well, you actively get debuffs applied that make your healing worse. You’re the only one that gets punished. With a healer on your team you actively become worse the longer a round drags out. It’s time sensitive. People are running some really cheesey burst meta and you don’t have the means to mitigate such burst with oakflesh/gemstone in arenas. Assuming you manage to survive that and hold out 80% healing debuff kicks in. Now what? Die. I think it’s pretty lame and fights should just last as long as they need to. There should only be 1 life staff on each team too.

Healers in other games have Utility in their kits such as

  • Stuns
  • Slows
  • Buffs
  • Debuffs
  • Heals
  • Damage
  • Roots
  • Some even rock invulnerability field

Healers in New World have:

  • Heal
  • Buff

Anti-LS acts as if VG suddenly makes up for the amount of nerfs LS has been hit with over the course of the game. It doesn’t. 5 days into June n more anti-healer over arena sprung up. Nobodies surprised. So expect more pointless gutting from AGS.

Healer with void make 30000 dmg like dps

If you’re only doing 30k damage in arenas as a DPS then you’re bad. As a 300 FOC LS/VG I regularly hit between 30-60k depending on the match. It’s an AOE weapon that has secondary scaling with Focus. What do you expect? It’s such a meager amount of damage compared to DPS doing quite literally anywhere between 250-450k over the course of an arena. And you have a problem with me doing 10% of that? God damn.

If the next changes are anything but fixes for the numerous Divine Embrace bugs that make it inconsistent as fuck I’m quitting.

Heals don’t connect if someone pulls out of range but it goes into CD anyway

Refreshing Divine Embrace never procs so your healing throughput is quite literally halved

Shared Struggle and Rebound sometimes don’t proc

Sometimes they do…on 100% HP targets

The target selection is completely random, could pick the closest, could pick the furthest away with no consideration for smart healing like WoW had back in 2005

Enemy players are probably soaking up the heals even though it doesn’t actually heal them, but it considers them targets

It’s just sad. Oh yeah and don’t forget!

Sacred Ground disappearing and going into CD because you ate a random path of destiny stagger

fortify reduced to 5% on each just in case you thought anything but burst comps were allowed in arenas.

SG also has to be the size of Lights Embrace & Divine Embrace’s radius because we can’t have any kind of positioning interfere with lmb smash.

If you’re inside a Sacred Ground it should actually make you more susceptible to knock back effects so if someone clears you out inside one you just get sent to the fucking moon.

Beacon should actually mark your ally making enemies pierce 50% more armor. And Divine Embrace should actually 1 shot your allies instead of healing them. That seems fair

Actually curious if it stacks because that’d be insane.

Yeah it should just apply a hostile shockwave that rends your allies wherever you place the sacred ground.

Why not just have Beacon stack all debuffs? That way we can be everyone’s enemy and nobodies ally. We debuff the new world. Want umbrals? SG negates the ability to earn umbral. Want loot? LE destroys your gear.

We’d be unstoppable… no wait better, when we cast Splash of Light, we autokill all players within the region with a 600s cd. And SoL’s perk will be: Sunder of Light: Lets you select the region before spell activation. ^,…^
