HEALING 101 - BEACON - You do not need to remain in Beacon to get it's healing benefit

ATTENTION PLEASE NOTE: In the most recent patch AGS changed how Beacon works and now it is no longer a “Toe Dipper” as Youtuber Lemoni likes to say. This information is now OUTDATED.

This post is being edited to reflect the fact Sacred Ground and Beacon now function the same way you must remain in the circle to heal

So then wouldnt it make sense to stay in the circle to gurantee a full 30 seconds of healing benefit? The 15 of active and 15 refreshed at the last moment of beacon?

Beacon heals for 15 seconds… if you step into it and it starts counting down and then you step back in, it will NOT refresh.

Now I only tested this with my beacon… Another persons Beacon may refresh the Beacon timer I do not know.

Testing now quickly it seems as the buff you get is tied to the actual circle so you lose the buff when the circle disappears but you dont have to stand in the circle after you get the buff.

I tested to place the circle on the ground and run into it after 10 sec. I got a 17sec buff (weird) but the buff was removed at the same time as the circle on the ground even it it said 8sec or something.

100% correct will edit my post to reflect this information

Becon is an an AOE damage that attaches the heal over time

VS

Area effect that heal over time

I don’t even bother with Beacon due to the high cool downs. However, I’m sure it has benefits on certain situations and in groups, but for me personally, I rather opt for Sacred Ground.

The downside with sacred grund is that you have to physically stand in the area and that can be tricky. With beacon you just have to touch it once. I donno if it’s intended or not.

Yup that is the one downfall for sure LOL it’s like everyone is running under the umbrella like it’s raining.
