I play healer exclusively as well, I am tired of always being the bottom of the pile when it comes to all the nerfs. They have not done much to make healing better. They only ever ruin it. Healers shouldn’t be easy to kill. They should fix rapier back to what it was before. But after this I am considering seriously another game. The talk about the gravity well being nerffed from what I can see they made it stronger and better. It is instant kill for me. Amazon please be as fast at fixing Healers as you do the cheese in Tempest Heart.
I used to play healer exclusively but honestly it’s just boring as hell. So now I play other things when I can. To your points… there are other changes in the PTR to improve some of these issues. Dodging while rooted, so even if the Grav Well gets you, you can still dodge to avoid damage. Agreed that AGS vocally said they would nerf Grav Well and then reverse and BOOSTED it, several patches ago. And then broke it, superpowering it, last patch. But theoretically that’s all being corrected now.
DPS is what shines in NW and I think it always will. Healing + Tanking was never intended to be such a big role as it is in other games - IMHO. The PVE side of NW is so relatively new since they changed direction and we’re actually just living through its design and development.
I’m willing to give these changes a shot. But that’s with the trust that the devs will balance diminishing returns on CC with the dodge changes and healing skill changes. And they don’t completely bork the PVE experience… ![]()
I saw this a being a problem a few months ago and i created a class concept for an arcane weapon to mana drain as a point to counter it before it became an issue. It was ignored.
Another problem is that there is no rot to keep constant pressure up so you cant stress the mana pool, just the person pushing buttons.

Has any developer responded to the huge amount of the community that do not want this change? I have seen several alternatives to further nerf LE without turning it into Divine Embrace lite. Of all changes in the game over the course of time, this has been one of the few that most people can agree on to leave Lights embrace without a cast time.
Potion timers i see being an issue. They are too frequent. Especially with refresing toast. Regeneration potion. Needs a buff and put on same cd as health potion. Mana needs to be more important healing output wouldnt be what it is if you couldnt chug mana potions or life tap for mana. Limiting non weapon healing and resources to heal would have much of the same effects and introduce more skill in decision making.
Right now healers are constantly spamming heals because they can. Theres an incredible amount of overhealing no one needs to worry about because theres always more potions and mana for days.
This is BS. Thre is literaly 0 skilsl on all mage weapons with no casting time. Also each aa on all mages weapons do make you walk slowly for like 1sec so you cant kite vs mele. Quick animations you say? Where? Ice shower animation is like 1-1.5sec
Burn out animation is like 3sec (GA can throw gravity into you to break animation and skill). Pillar of fire animation after buffs is like 1.5sec now? Why you write bs like this? Go test stuff or read before posting.
Yep. Healing could get some heavy rework where much more skill is neede so we can see big gap between average healers and top healers. Like with bow on live now.
Imho all skills that are easy to cast shouldnt heal much but we should buff healing from aimed skills/aa. Also would be nice to have diminish returns on healing so healer can see heal-debuff on team members and both (healer + other plaer) would have to manage healing over time. Would be more fun (but should work only while pvp on).
I disagree here. Healing doesn’t need to get harder. PVP centric players pretty much want zero healing and it to be a war of attrition of the health bar, that’s fine. I’d rather just apply a straight 80% healing or 100% healing reduction while in PVP and be done with it. But for PVE it’s fine, it was fine before these nerfs and its questionably going to be much more difficult already after them.
IMO the problem with healing is the underlying flaw that a single AOE heal can heal as many people as it touches. Instead it should only heal party members or the five lowest health players in the area. Right now one healer on a point is as effective as ten healers on a point because everyone benefits from whatever the last AOE heal was put down (due to not stacking). I’m fine with stacking them in an area but let’s cut it down so an individual healer isn’t as potent and doesn’t have an economy of scale with AOE heals.
This wouldnt nerf PVE and would have a positive impact (based on players desired changes to healing) for PVP.
Well im not saying harder. But more skill based. More rewarding.
And yes AOE heal is a problem. But not only one. To put whole pvp problem into one sentence: to much healing leads to brainless game play.
Ya this is what I don’t get. They are making the skilled pet of healing, group targeted healing, harder while not touching ape healing. Therefore the skill for healers will be significantly lower
The thing is the same brainless game play is not overcomeable in pve with the same healing.
Yet the battle cry is nerf healers. No nerf the rediculous scale of economy they get outside five man content.
Yea we need to nerf them. But there are 2 ways to do it:
- with brain so it will be ok in pvp and fun to play
- simple way - nerf to the groud. so it wont be on pvp. no one will play it.
And i advocate for 1 for months now. But first ppl call me razy calling healing to strong. Now they call me crazy since i want it to be fun and not op same time aka: diminish returns on healing while in pvp mode.
Diminishing returns is a trash fix when neither healers or players control who the heal or who heals them. The only time ive seen mrchanics like this wotk is attrition fights that go to long. Game starts stacking offensive buffs.
1st they kill the tank, now the healer. as a result, they only want dps fight

Wow… This is so very true. As a healer myself, I remember first using the aoe heals here and thinking… Damn! That’s crazy. In other games, apes that function like this are the absolute weakest heals… Whereas sacred is the mainstay in NW.
Heals get a bit stronger when it’s aoe but group only. And then strongest for direct target.
I’d also like to see either an actual attack ability that somehow buffs or something … Or a reactive heal that has a few charges and heals the target when they’re struck. Really prefer an interesting attack though. Hate that playing life staff means you have basic attacks… And 2 projectile heals that are basically just another form of basic attack. Replace DE with something more fun ![]()
Let’s look at war hammer and axe. They have always been a hot ticket item, still remain a hot ticket item. Forcing healers always to find new metas that just keep us weak and easy targets make this game no fun. Healers should not be easy to kill, they are not the ones out there killing either. If they were topping both the damage and healing than nerf the offhand but not the heals.

Theyre supposed to be easy to kill unless they’re focusing their healing on themselves. What usually ends up happening now is that either the healer is super tanky + healing themselves while literally typing out taunts and standing still, or they are so mobile that they can successfully kite a few people while healing themselves AND their team at the same time.
